Hey, that was a pretty good tutorial! Thanks!
Except they are no longer really conservative.
“Do you know the breakdown of who won in those seats where UKIP came in 2nd? I would guess that the large majority of them were Tory victories.”
I do not know the percentage just what the UKIP published and they just said that many 2nd place finishes.
I think there was also some real fear of “Red Ed” and when Cameron promised to hold the referendum on the EU that took the wind out of the UKIP’s sails a bit. A coalition government of Labor and the SNP is not a nice idea. Even my leftist British Son-in-Law was afraid of.
The issue that Labour has that they will never be able to obtain a majority without the Scottish seats. They are very possibly finished as a party especially if the hard left can form a new more openly Socialist front. The irony is that it was Labour that encouraged the SNP. Labour slit its own throat.
Something like New York Republicans.
#NickClegg resigns: "Fear and grievance have won, liberalism has lost"
Yeah. There is that. Just like the RINOs here.
“Disastrous,
Im so gutted I cant even put it into words.
“
Deep breath. Count to 10 in 64th’s. History is not a strong suit in America, at least if it’s older than the last Madonna scandal. (Do people still talk about her? I don’t get out much.) However, didn’t Churchill spend time in British political purgatory (which serves tea, I’m sure) before being elected to the PM-ship to lead WWII? (Admittedly, its easier to fight an enemy who isn’t already living in the country at taxpayer expense.)
good explanation.
This cracked me up...”a Scottish Al Sharpton”
Would that be someone who doesn’t pay taxes but has a great lawn?
The Liberal Democrats (also bad but were in coalition with the Conservatives after the last election resulted in no majority) were nearly wiped out. The confusing part is that many freepers strongly hate the Conservative Party's guts because they aren't conservative enough and were rooting for a minor party called UKIP that never really had a chance to make an impact. So they will react as if this result is a disaster.Well said. The problem with coalition governance is, the minor partner gets a plank or two or no deal -- making the major partner look like something it isn't.
Damn.....
Oh, do be quiet.
96% NOT Muslim. 92% white.
THERE WERE A LARGE NUMBER OF POSTAL VOTES IN SOUTH THANET, THAT IS ONE WAY FOR THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY OR LABOUR PARTY MACHINE’S TO GIN UP VOTES......LAST NIGHT BBC ANCHORMAN DAVID DIMBLEBY SAID ON AIR IN THE TEN PM HOUR UK TIME THAT AT ANOTHER LOCATION IN ENGLAND, THERE WERE BALLOT PAPERS WITHOUT THE UKIP CANDIDATE’S NAME PRINTED ON THEM. THE UKIP CANDIDATE GOT AN APOLOGY FOR IT.
Thats 3 of the shockers gone @nick_clegg @Nigel_Farage @Ed_Miliband all we need is charlatan @David_Cameron to join them &we can all #Smile— David Lightman (@Mind_Poet) May 8, 2015
