Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas, announced he would run for president of the United States on Tuesday and he already has the support of Chuck Norris.

"I still believe Mike Huckabee is the most qualified,” Norris told the New York Times. “He has the moral clarity and experience to lead our great country forward.”

If you liked George W. Bush’s brand of big-spending, big-government conservatism, you’ll love Mike Huckabee.

Most of the leading Republicans running for president [2008] show some support for Bush’s ideology, but no other candidate so completely embodies it.

As governor of Arkansas, Huckabee dramatically increased state spending. During his two-term tenure, spending increased by more than 65 percent — at three times the rate of inflation.

The number of government workers increased by 20 percent, and the state’s debt services increased by nearly $1 billion. Huckabee financed his spending binge with higher taxes. Under his leadership, the average Arkansan’s tax burden increased 47 percent, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, including increases in the state’s gas, sales, income, and cigarette taxes. He raised taxes on everything from groceries to nursing home beds.

Huckabee answers these complaints by pointing out that he “cut taxes 94 times” while governor. True. But most of those tax cuts were tiny, like exempting residential lawn care from the sales tax. Some cuts reduced overall state revenues by as little as $15,000. On net, Huckabee increased state taxes by more than $500 million. In fact, Huckabee increased taxes in the state by more than Bill Clinton did.

“He truly appears to believe that if something is a good idea it should be a federal government program.” On its annual governor’s report card, Cato gave Huckabee an “F” for fiscal policy during his final term, and an overall two-term grade of “D.” Only four governors had worse scores, and 15 Democratic governors got higher grades, including well-known liberals like Ted Kulongoski of Oregon, Rod Blagojevich of Illinois, and Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania.

“I like Mike”

So do murderers and violent criminals who murder police officers.

They like how Mike handed out pardons like Halloween candy.

RE: Without hesitation. I’ve seen Norris recently. He barely walks.

Chuck Norris once went to mars. That’s why there are no signs of life.

Oh, I’m sure their egos are all healthy, LOL. I think it depends on how it’s channelled.

Huckabee was an also-ran last time. Yet he thinks this time will be different.

RE: And I’m guessing Chuck was asked before Huck ran if he’d support him again. I think they make a good duo.

Chuck Norris’ calendar goes straight from March 31st to April 2nd. No one fools Chuck Norris.

Mike is a stalking horse for Jeb Bush, just like he was for Romney.

Correct.

And Chuck Norris is an idiot actor.

Correct. Huck-a-phony is looking for a big payoff...

Huck's belief system is much closer to Hillary's than it is to Cruz's.

Guess Chuck Norris isn’t the sharpest tool in the drawer, then.

As of today, I'm deferring all criticism of our GOP candidates to the MSM who are dedicated to our destruction via the "divide and conquer" strategy they have been using successfully for years but nobody on our side has been smart enough to figure that out...........

As of today, I will not make comments such as " if ... gets the nomination, I'm voting for Hillary".

As of today, I will not make comments such as "If ... gets the nomination, I'm staying home."

As of today, I will not be a participant in the anticipated "purge war" that will be reminiscent of what happened to this website back in 2012.

As of today, I will not allow single issues to be the determining factor in who I support for the 2016 primary.

As of today, my goal is to win the 2016 President election and that ain't going to happen if I choose to stay home simply because my primary election choice didn't win.............

To all on this thread : Huckabee is a phony con man. he’s no conservative as he is trying to put on an act of being. He’s a big government liberal. Take time to read this as it will shock you:

SOURCE:

http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/05/mike-huckabee-big-government-117608.html

Huckabee supported in-state tuition rates and scholarships for students brought to the country illegally—a stance he continues to defend, even while taking a tough line against illegal immigration in general.

Huckabee’s major achievement was a health program known as ARKids First, which he pushed through in 1997, his first full year in office. It extended coverage to children whose parents earned too much to qualify for Medicaid, but still couldn’t afford private insurance. To pay for his various initiatives, Huckabee raised taxes—gas taxes, sales taxes, a tax on beds in nursing homes.... the state’s total tax bill increased on his watch, as did state spending and the number of state employees.

This has led to a longstanding feud with the anti-tax Club for Growth, which denigrates Huckabee’s record as governor. The libertarian-leaning Cato Institute has also given him poor marks, once describing him as “the biggest big-government conservative.”

Big taxer? Check.
Big spender? Check.
Benefits for illegal aliens? Check.

>>He truly appears to believe that if something is a good idea it should be a federal government program.” <<

Wow! I don’t get that impression of him at all. In fact, during his daily Huckabee report, he rails against federal spending time and again.

Just never know. Still like the guy, but I’m pretty cautious of all politicians in general.

Think about it...republicans took the Senate and increased their majority in the House on promises not kept. Puzzling.

It's shocking that anyone would defend a record like that and support a candidate who has it.

But then, I had a recent discussion with some liberal friends who insisted one of the things they like most about Obama was he is an 'excellent speaker who never says "er" or "um"'. We're all entitled to our own opinions but we are never entitled to our own realities.

I have since provided those libs with articles and videos showing how totally dependent on his teleprompter Obama really is. I have not heard back from any of them. :-)

If Huckabee wants to run he should run where his record will be seen as an accomplishment -- as a democrat.
