Why We Must Unite Behind Ted Cruz [Open letter to conservative talk show hosts]

Open letter to conservative talk show hosts

Ted Cruz

I’m disappointed with conservative talk radio. I really can’t understand why our media giants, such as Rush Limbaugh , Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin, are not actively pushing for Ted Cruz….

Conservative pundits have attributed the 2012 debacle, to the inability for conservatives to unite behind one strong conservative. YET WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN!?!

While we’re window shopping, the other team lost no time with scorn, and vilification; ignoring and misrepresenting anything Cruz.

Coalescing behind one guy, won’t happen by itself. Nor will the liberal leaning media help us in this regard. Conservative talk show hosts-the “editorial board writers for working people”, MUST LEAD THE WAY.

So, why Cruz? Answer: Those that go to Washington can’t be trusted, except Cruz.

It’s true, Marco Rubio might have a slight edge in speeches, and Scott Walker can point to more impressive successes. Still we MUST unite behind Ted Cruz….

Many feel that, on balance, Cruz’s skill-set outweighs his opponents, but that can be debated. What’s not debatable is that every single candidate, (except Cruz) that has already arrived in DC, has changed their tunes. The other opponents have simply not yet come to Washington.

The atmosphere in our nation’s capital, is antithetical to conservative values. It’s so toxic, even lifelong conservatives feel compelled to accommodate the special interests and big donors. All, at the expense of the voters that sent them there in the first place. Except Cruz.

Just last week, Jodi Ernst and Perdue, voted against conservative values. Why should anyone assume that a Scott Walker won’t drink the same kool-aid Rubio has been sipping the past couple of years.

If anyone thinks moving away from Cruz will slow media’s criticisms, think again. They’ll vilify anyone. They even turned harmless, squishy, Romney into the devil incarnate.

No, Ted Cruz is not 100% perfect. Nobody is. All criticisms are, however, anecdotal at best.

Ted must be mentioned every single day, and constantly contrasted to his counterparts in the Republican party.

If a drum-roll is keeping Hillary alive, imagine what constant positive focus will do to one of our best.

Go back to those family members and ask them where did they get that impression about Ted Cruz, from a TV personality ?

The way the left or right media portrays Ted Cruz ?

A op ed peice in a article ?

Or is it they have their own horse in the race ..i.e. Rand Paul ? Marco Rubio ? Huckleberry ?

Perhaps this is your mission over the summer to persuade them otherwise about Ted Cruz.

It wasn’t until I became a born again Christian that a fellow brother told me about the Democrats about 28 years ago and started to change my thinking.

I was Democrat because my parents were life long FDR/JFK Democrats.

Never gave it a thought until I was about 25 and everything changed for me.

Was told when I was younger to hate and dislike Ronald Reagan for no good reason, but ? Got to know and loved what Reagan was all about the last few years of his Presidency.

It can be your mission and job to persuade your family members over the summe for them to take another look at Ted Cruz and hopefully they will warm up to him.

Did they vote for Ronald Reagan ?

Tell them that Ted Cruz argued cases before the Supreme Court and has a debating championship named after him, so ? I do believe Ted Cruz would NOT BE spouting, or running his mouth off without giving it much thought.

Think about it ?

The person of Ted Cruz’s ability and caliper with his experience arguing cases before the Supreme Court or his well known debating skills would not just run his mouth off without first thinking about what he is going to say ?

This guy, Ted Cruz can think on his feet very well..

I am disappointed in his support for an expanded H1B visa program, but he is head and shoulders above any of the other candidates.

The reason the COnservative pundit class will hedge their bets?

They are cowards also they have a good thing going and don’t want to risk alienating the GOP-e. Follow the $$$.

Window shopping for what ? 10 canadates ?

If it takes people 10 months up to election time to make up their minds then they were always on the fense.

Goldilocks Canadate Window Shopping will get us Jeb Bush..

I guess they can’t see the forest through the trees of what is really going on, to thin out the herd so the real conservative canadate does not get the support of the majority.

If we wait for more debates and see how each and every canadate performs Jeb Bush will be laughing behind the screens gaining traction.

This is exactly what the GOPe wants.

The real debates are actually happening right in front of the whole country for the next few months until the “ staged “ debates happen.

The real debates are now, on TV, radio, in print every now when each canadate goes from town to town, city to city, state to state espousing and talking about what they stand for ( if they were honest ).

when you interjected “blindly” into your sentence, you lost all remaining credibility. You act like this is a Kommissar with absolute rule sending down a decree to be followed regardless. Grow up ma’am, it’s a thought piece suggestion.

That is the point of everybody getting behind the guy early. Now he no longer has a real campaign to run, he doesn’t have any real opponents, he has dramatically reduced opportunities to say something stupid. It IS blindly following. Blindly follow this pundit and the candidate he wants you to back.

Oh look more ad hominems, how pathetically typical. And actually it’s a LACK OF THOUGHT piece. That’s what he’s putting forth, stop thinking, just back this guy. Get in line.

you moron, if these three talk radio guys got behind Cruz now, there would still be a campaign to run. The others wouldn’t just stop running. There’s still Jeb. There’s still Fox News and the other Jurassic media types. You are simply on another planet.

I stand by my assessment of your understanding of elections.....it’s off the reservation of common sense - and you’re way too thin skinned for the internet.

It’s not thin skinned to point out that the other guy is addicted to ad hominems. I wasn’t wounded by your need to throw insults. In fact I’m encouraged. Every time you do nothing but insult you tell me I’m right, and that you know it. there’s an old lawyer maxim: if you have the facts pound the facts, if you have the law pound the law, if you have neither pound the table. You, like all flame warriors, are a table pounder. Every time you smack the table you scream to the world you have nothing to actually back your arguments. If there’s somebody thin skinned in this discussion it’s the guy that must make all discussions personal.

So pound pound pound that table. I’m a goin home.

It’s above your intelligence level, but one can insult and make decisive game winning points at the same time. So you’re a pacifist type B bureaucratic drone type....and you’re easily offended....fine. Doesn’t mean my points don’t destroy yours, because they do.

If you aren’t up to speed on these candidates now after the last six years we’ve had, you are exhibit A lo info voter.

I agree with your comments. I wasn’t aware of his Legal skills at the Supreme Court level. I had heard of his debating skills, and knew they were rated rather high.

I have been working on them. The more subtle approach will be needed.

It is too bad regarding Huckabee because they do like him. I do too, but not to back for president. He really rubs me the wrong way at times too.

Savage is an interesting screwball. From time to time he has a flash of insight with which he gets something no one else gets. Most of the time he rants or slobbers on himself. He’s on at night when I work and the only alternative is a doctor show which I can’t stand.

Go for it.

Since I know for sure who I want to vote for, I'll work hard and spend the money so that the Media and the GOP-E doesn't get to pick the candidate without some pushback from conservatives.

There are a LOT of people on FR that will vote for whatever (R) that get selected by someone else.

Me and lots of people like me are trying to make sure that our candidate is that winner.

If he's the last one standing, the GOP crowd will vote for them, no matter what, as long as their (R) wins.

"Mara Liasson, on of Bret Baier’s moderates he uses to counter-balance his sort of conservatives, said it succinctly yesterday regarding the entry of Huckabee and Carson into the race. She said that they’ll each get their 1%, knock each other out, and leave the field to Jeb Bush...the way they always do. (A paraphrase)"

Closet Freeper. She's been reading my post and a ton of others here saying they will steal the evangelical vote away from Cruz and let a RINO run right up the middle again and it is 08' all over again.

I sure hope this voting block takes a line from "The Who" we don't get fooled again....

Let it play out,

Nope. I won't let it play out.

I'll do what I can to influence the process. So will many others.

You don't get to make those rules for anyone but yourself. Thank goodness.

I very seriously doubt that the 'conventional wisdom' will apply this election, regardless of what happened in previous elections.

Too many conservative are way too pissed off this election.

Time will tell, but that is my prediction.
