Why We Must Unite Behind Ted Cruz [Open letter to conservative talk show hosts]

Open letter to conservative talk show hosts

Ted Cruz

I’m disappointed with conservative talk radio. I really can’t understand why our media giants, such as Rush Limbaugh , Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin, are not actively pushing for Ted Cruz….

Conservative pundits have attributed the 2012 debacle, to the inability for conservatives to unite behind one strong conservative. YET WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN!?!

While we’re window shopping, the other team lost no time with scorn, and vilification; ignoring and misrepresenting anything Cruz.

Coalescing behind one guy, won’t happen by itself. Nor will the liberal leaning media help us in this regard. Conservative talk show hosts-the “editorial board writers for working people”, MUST LEAD THE WAY.

So, why Cruz? Answer: Those that go to Washington can’t be trusted, except Cruz.

It’s true, Marco Rubio might have a slight edge in speeches, and Scott Walker can point to more impressive successes. Still we MUST unite behind Ted Cruz….

Many feel that, on balance, Cruz’s skill-set outweighs his opponents, but that can be debated. What’s not debatable is that every single candidate, (except Cruz) that has already arrived in DC, has changed their tunes. The other opponents have simply not yet come to Washington.

The atmosphere in our nation’s capital, is antithetical to conservative values. It’s so toxic, even lifelong conservatives feel compelled to accommodate the special interests and big donors. All, at the expense of the voters that sent them there in the first place. Except Cruz.

Just last week, Jodi Ernst and Perdue, voted against conservative values. Why should anyone assume that a Scott Walker won’t drink the same kool-aid Rubio has been sipping the past couple of years.

If anyone thinks moving away from Cruz will slow media’s criticisms, think again. They’ll vilify anyone. They even turned harmless, squishy, Romney into the devil incarnate.

No, Ted Cruz is not 100% perfect. Nobody is. All criticisms are, however, anecdotal at best.

Ted must be mentioned every single day, and constantly contrasted to his counterparts in the Republican party.

If a drum-roll is keeping Hillary alive, imagine what constant positive focus will do to one of our best.

If choosing Cruz means I must join a mob of bullies, I won’t choose him. I won’t be party to that no matter what the consequences.

You argue your point well. It boils down to this: there’s no one in the running or likely to get in that hasn’t already demonstrated their views and the manner in which they present them. As far as some ultra dark horse, the person would have to do something both spectacular and brilliantly demonstrating that they are the full package to gain enough recognition to be viable. That sounds like a miracle. A complete unknown cannot simply saunter into the race and become the candidate to beat. Why, they’d have to say what Cruz is already saying!

I disagree fundamentally. At this point I don’t think we know much about ANY of the candidates and that includes a jr Senator who hasn’t even held the office for one term yet. I think anybody that thinks they really know these candidates is building a decision based off their own assumptions almost exclusively. Everybody has basically put out a few pages of talking points, and barely had to stand behind them if at all. The only candidates we can make good decisions on right now are the painfully obvious no goes like pathetically failed former HP CEO Fiorina (I don’t care what her positions are, her corporate career is one pathetic failure after another and I don’t want to give her a chance to do to America what she’s already done to so much of America), and the scandal machine that is Christy (again, really, who cares what his positions are, his candidacy is doomed). Other than that there’s a big maybe pile, and no real reason to hurry. If Cruz is as good as you think he is he’ll rise to the top over the course of he next 8 months.

We don’t need to sprint to judgement, there’s nothing to be gained aligning behind one guy in May when no votes will be cast until January. Let the process happen, let him get a couple of black eyes, see how he handles. See if he holds his positions are starts to nuance now that there’s the accountability of a campaign instead of the freedom he had as a “maverick” jr senator.

Notice how all you have is personal attacks. If your position was worth holding you could actually debate it, instead all you do is attack those that disagree. Which proves my point.

I didn’t personally attack you...unless you say describing is attacking you, in which case you have the problem, not me.

And I made plenty of points, albeit over your head.

They are already doing their damnedest to avoid mentioning Ted Cruz here in the ‘first primary state’ of soviet Red Hampshire...of course; it doesn’t really matter since the dems and the GOP-e have this primary rigged.

Right. We must hear from Bush, Santorum and Huckabee and Carson. THAT is ridiculous unless you want a liberal republican to win the nomination. The “process” is corrupted and liberal left media will push all those rinos. Maybe you need to turn in your conservative credentials?

Actually you did. And your attacking others. That’s all you have, ad hominems. And no you haven’t attempted to make any points. And oh look, more personal attacks. That’s all you have. That’s all you ever have on any thread. Just another flame war junky.

Not so with other canadates with dogmatic supporters who rather see their horse in the race get the nod than to keep their eye on the big picture.

Those supporters who have been deceived to believe that their canadate is a real conservative and dogmatically support their canadate irregaurdless of their actual polices or ideology.

I’ll type slowly so you can understand: A: these talk radio guys are eventually going to come down on Cruz - almost without a doubt. How do we know that? Because we’ve listened to them for decades and watched Cruz since he challenged Dewhurst in Texas. We’ve watched all these people for a long time. If you take everything Rush and Levin and Hannity stand for, and measure it against the candidates, Cruz is the run away winner.

What Loudon is saying is that they should announce that now. They won’t - because A: they don’t tend to endorse inside the primary very often and B: they may not even know for sure now where they’ll come down at this point. But as an article, it makes some good points.

Sorry that zipped right past you.

You have described exactly where I am at.

I believe this is the very last chance we have to get our country back - using a ballot.

If they’re eventually going to come for Cruz then that proves my point. If he is that good a candidate he’ll elevate over the next 8 months, we don’t need to stop looking at him and other candidates now and just blindly follow. We can continue to engage our brains and see if he is really all he’s cracked up to be.

Of course then you have the problem of what do these radio guys ACTUALLY stand for? All Hannity stands for is ratings. I don’t care what he says about any candidate.

They won’t announce now because it would be bad for ratings. People who get their opinions from them won’t need to tune in again until the election is over.

I’m not even sure they’re dogmatic supporters. Some folks like to be first on the bandwagon, and some just like to be able to tell everybody else they’re wrong. I’m sure some of the early supporter really do believe in their guy, for actual good reasons. But most just like being quick.

Sorry that zipped right past you.

One more time, please? Not because it went past me, but because I really enjoyed this post! How hard is it for people to understand this point? We KNOW who Jeb, Rubio et al are about, along with knowing what Cruz is about. Those of us that actually care about our Country watch these guys very closely from the get go. By now, we know all we need to know to understand that Cruz is really, truly, the ONLY REAL CONSERVATIVE in the race! It's time we get united behind him, and ignore the rest, who will only push the GOP even further to the left. No thanks. Put Cruz forward, or be prepared to lose in 2016. It's that simple.

A republic works only if there is respect for the process.

I lost respect for the process a long time ago.

Primary elections are corrupted by cross-party voting; general elections are corrupted by various sorts of fraud. Neither the demoplican party nor the republocrat party show any interest in cleaning up the mess. Big Media are pathological liars. I'm not certain that I have EVER participated in an honest election in these United States.
