Little GOP appetite for immigration fight on homeland bill

Hill Republicans have all but surrendered the fight against President Barack Obama’s executive actions on immigration.

A handful of GOP firebrands are still agitating to use Congress’ power of the purse to reverse Obama’s move to shield millions of immigrants here illegally from deportations.

But top Republicans say they’re not about to go there again: They tried that earlier this year with the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill but were forced to capitulate on the eve of a department shutdown, having won no concessions on immigration. Better to let the issue play out in the courts, the GOP reasoning goes, especially since a judge has already halted the president’s November executive actions — at least for now.

“The avenue that we took last time was a losing battle, and we knew it was a losing battle going into it,” said Rep. John Carter (R-Texas), the man writing this year’s DHS funding bill. “There might be other things we can figure out. We’re putting our heads together on that — but it won’t be what we did last time because what we did last time won’t win.”

With the GOP in control of both chambers, party leaders are determined to avoid no-win showdowns with the Obama administration. Democrats still control 46 seats in the Senate — enough to keep Republicans from the 60 votes they need to advance legislation and to keep leaders focused on measures that can win some bipartisan support. Another scorched-earth immigration fight risks more congressional gridlock, just as Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) hope to secure deals on trade, cybersecurity and Iran.

I’m done voting.

My vote is used as an excuse to legitimize power-hungry creeps, who repeatedly lie to my face,

My vote is used to steal resources from my family that no one else earned but us.

My vote is used to dictate how I live my life & raise my children.

My vote is used to enable thugs with badges & judical officials, who daily violate the rights of ordinary citizens, including and especially me & those like me. My Constitutional rights are daily being watered down.

My vote is used to allow cradle to grave coddling of the worst sort of animals. Yes, I said animals. Native born and illegal - they’re all animals.

My vote is also used to denigrate me for merely complaining about above ungrateful animals, who exist only through my enforced largesse.

My vote is used to force acceptance of the worst sort of sexual perversions, which are being taught at the schools I am forced to finance and into the military, which I also must pay for.

Lastly, my vote is used to afford thousands of useless government employees & electocrats lifetime healthcare, retirement and other benefits I can only dream about. I get to pay for theirs, but will not have such luxury myself.

So, why vote? I’ll get screwed to the end anyway. Why pretend to participate when they pretend to listen to “voters”? Ballot voting only encourages the basstids.

F’em all.

Can't argue with much of that, not at all....

I am going to vote for Ted Cruz in the primary. Then hopefully will have a chance to vote for him in the General Election. Sort of my hope for a 'last hurrah' of sorts!
