The chairman of the House Armed Services committee called concerns about a special forces training exercise in Texas silly on Monday, dismissing conspiracy theories of impending martial law
His comments come a week after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered the State Guard to monitor the exercise, a move widely criticized by Democrats and some Republicans.
These are incredibly capable, patriotic Americans and the notion that theyre going to be some sort of private army for the president to take away all our guns is just silly, said Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Clarendon.

TrusT uS.. We’re With Big Gubamint!!
Ah...well that is funny...according to Jones there are no terrorists....they are all flase flag attacks by the mossad.
I wouldn’t trust one word out of this Boehner bootlicker, Rep. Mac Thornberry.
In Texas there are 7 AFBs, 4 navy bases, and 10 army bases including the very large Fort Bliss and Fort Hood.
Apparently none of these pose a risk to Texas, but this relatively small group of military in an exercise is a risk.
Why?
Obama’s own personal hit squad maybe
Have you ever heard of Ft Hood troops/tanks “training” in the streets of cities without telling any city officials beforehand?
Have you ever seen soldiers doing maneuvers and drills off of their bases and in civilian areas?
He’s more of a reporter/spinner than an oracle.
i cant tell you or i’ll have to...
They are running some kind of operation off the reservation where they don’t belong. They should go into Mexico and do it there.
Cuz Obama.....LMAO.
“We support our troops” (unless Obama is in office)
Besides the fact that the Govt doesnt have the numbers to take over much more than a major city....it’s highly insulting to those of us who have vets or family members currently serving in our armed forces.
People were pretty happy to see the NG deployed in Baltimore.
And yet Some fail to see the need for Urban training.
Is there a problem wanting an accounting of a federal agency or activity?

Jones is a 9/11 truther freak which means he is also a mental case.
I wouldnt believe he was on fire even if I saw smoke bellowing out of his ass.

That’s one of the funniest things I’ve read on FR. Ever.
But you probably meant billowing, right?
but then again......
All Texas soldiers are likely to be Americans, but not all American Army soldiers are Texans.
Regardless of where they come from they are, however, guests of the sovereign Republic of Texas. (At least until they wear out their welcome, as determined by Texas.)
It really is rather paranoid to worry about the Feds having to conduct military operations in Texas in response to a widespread armed uprising.
I wonder why the US military is so paranoid that they think they need to train for it.
Why is the federal government believing such conspiracy theories?
