During a large rally in front of Baltimore’s City Hall, a young man introduced as “Brother Rose,” in winding and sometimes incoherent speech, praised the burning of a CVS store at the corner of Pennsylvania and North Avenues. “America didn’t care until we started affecting things they profit from… What we saying, ‘Let’s get you out of our communities.’”
He also said, “Without us running (unintelligible) Mondawmin Mall [the site of mass looting on Monday], taking back from the stores that have taken our dollars for how long, and not giving back to the community in any type of way. We made a statement. The world heard us then. They heard that the youth of Baltimore are going to get justice by any means necessary.”(continued)

Unfortunately, that kind of stupid spans geography, race, and education level. This whole naive idea that people who profit from commerce are required to “give back” is asinine.
He is the example that I want to place in front of bleeding heart liberals who rant about ghetto residents who don’t have jobs or close access to grocery stores and pharmacies. They can try to explain to this idiot why stores are good for people. I’d love to see them try.

Your post reminded me of a past rant posted in a couple of places.
It has been my observation that when a minority finally gains power, instead of rolling up their sleeves and proving how wrong the bigots were, they yell "It's payback time!" and undo all the good will that had been generated by their struggle.

Jesse Jackson actually proposed that white owned businesses should be banned from leaving towns that become majority black.
I don’t know if he is actually dumb enough to think that would work, or if he was just playing to his base.
Actually, the inner city is well armed. When people complain about the police force becoming militarized, they don’t realize just how much weaponry the other side has. It’s like a war zone.
