Health Reform: Providing still more evidence of how ObamaCare is "working," most enrollees learned this year that they had to pay back a huge chunk of their insurance subsidies. So much for "affordability."

We would have been happy (as seniors w/S.S.) to have a tax due of $2000. We were a bot shocked to see ours at $18,000. No, our house sale was this year. Hate to think what next year taxes will be. (We don’t get subsidized insurance either). we just re-invested a 401 and they called it a disbursement instead of a rollover. Talk about shock! We’re getting it corrected with the bank’s help. I will be bad enough without that amount.

Next year, the fines double, and each year after that so you either get insurance or go to prison

Next year, if the Supreme Court rules in June against subsidies on the federal exchange, the fine/penalty will go away for a lot of people, because an exemption to it is based on "affordability" of healthcare premiums (net of subsidy) compared to a person's income.

If the federal exchange subsidies go away, then the effective premiums go way up. Hence, fewer people meet the affordabiltiy test.

If they rule against the exchanges, won’t the government have to repay all those ‘fines’, er, taxes, er, uh fines?............

“If they rule against the exchanges...”

I predict the feds will simply punish the people impacted by this especially in red states.

I wondered that too.

If you live in a federal-exchange state (i.e., a state that didn't set up a state exchange), I don't see why not.

I want my $95 back.

I didn’t have to Pay any extra Tax because of Obamacare.

I’m just paying an additional $700 a Month for our Health Insurance. It was $1,200 a Month in December 2013. Now it’s $1,900 a Month for my Wife and I.

We lost our Insurance because it didn’t Qualify. Had to go to my Retirement Insurance Plan to keep the same level of Coverage. Mt Former Employer does not subsidize their Retirement Healthcare Insurance, they just offer an array of Plans under their Group Pricing. It equals COBRA Rates.

The Premium went up $400 a Month in 2014 and it went up $300 a Month in 2015.

Lord knows what our 2016 Premium will look like.

The GOP, on the other hands a re a bunch of pathetic, do-nothing losers, who deserve to go down in history with the Whigs.

McConnell and Boehner are far more dangerous to the Republic than Obama, Pelosi and Reid. FAR more dangerous! Those three do not have the power to shut down their opposition. McConnell and Boehner do, AND HAVE!

TRAITORS!!!

I detest them beyond description!!!

Pelosi says “AFFORDABLE” so therefore it must be. People should learn that EVERYTHING Democrats say or do is a LIE.

0dumbo would have LOST in 2012 had he NOT SHUT DOWN THE TEA PARTY VIA THE IRS. One of the biggest crimes ever committed by a sitting president.

Yet the democrats believe hat they will win in 2016, when the people in the middle class have been screwed. Watch the amount of new sales on Motorcycles, Scooters, ATVs, UTVs,Boats, waverunners, and snowmobiles drop drastically as the middle class is hit with less disposable income. But that is what Odumbo wanted, kill the middle class and America will slowly cease to exist.

Not only that, but a lot of people had to go to places like H&R Block for the first time in their lives to do to their taxes because they could not figure out the Obamacare portion of the forms. What used to be EZ is not anymore.

I know a person who this happened to and she was hopping mad that she had to pay over $100 to H&R Block (first time in over 30 years she’s not been able to fill in the EZ herself) + she had to pay back some of the so-called subsidy. And yes, she’s a hardcore Dem and Obama voter.

Yep, she does. If they hadn’t fought it, it wouldn’t have been like this she says. Nothing to do with the Dems whatsoever.

My Obamacare tax was having to listen to her wailing and crying over this for an hour.

“The bastards must’ve also raised the income tax rates...wife and I both claimed married and 0, still had a tax bill at eoy of almost $2000!”

When we had two incomes, we both had to claim single in order to have them withhold enough. They make it difficult on purpose - to hide just how much income they are redistributing from us. As the 2nd income, I wanted 28% (back then) withheld - you have to go through a myriad of calculations to figure out how to have them withhold that simple percentage!

[A huge new layer of federal healthcare bureaucracy with well-paid, full-time employees having gold-plated benefits ... and millions of new covered individuals who receive services, but pay very little ... and health care costs—TAXES—have increased?]

You've hit the nail on the head. ObamaCare, Dodd/Franks, the inevitable Cap-and-Trade, many of the programs in the “Stimulus,” are all aimed at creating new bureaucracies of unionized Democrat activists.

The Turtle and his GOPe henchmen already have drafted legislation to fully fund the subsidies through 2017, just waiting for he Supremes to decide which way they will jump. Remember that Boehner shut Michele Bachmann down hard when she tried to defund ObamaCare when they first got the House back.
