If Ben hadn’t tried to suppress it in the first place, nobody would have cared.
As Nixon found out the hard way, it’s always the cover-up that winds up getting you.
OH NOOOOOOOOOEZ
when will the horror end ???
Surely little Benny was adopted ???
Yeah that’s it...
The Left hates nothing more than the unvarnished truth. Nothing strikes fear into their hearts like truth does.
Good thing he got that hushed up. Now, no one will ever know.
What these dolts don’t seem to understand is that no one is responsible for someone else’s misdeeds.
Refiling those tax records as we speak... oops, that’s another Democrat.
[snip] Though the PBS "internal review" of the Gates-Affleck controversy is still in process, it is hard to see how, with these new revelations, the network can keep the series if Gates continues to be the host and executive producer. [/snip]
The question is—did his people treat the slaves well or not? Was he like Washington or Simon Legree? Some masters were better than others.
It’s a good thing he squelched the first story, when it would have only been one.
I bet he regrets that effort.
Ben was foolish to try to cover this up. Simply brought it to everyone’s attention.
Personally, I think his ancestors owning slaves is a yawner. So what!
IMO the big story is Gates being ‘bought’ to cover it up.Destroys the credibility of him and his show.
Heh. It would actually be hilarious if there was some law requiring direct descendants of slave owners to pay slave reparations. I read somewhere that only 5% of modern day white Americans have an ancestor who was a slave owner. Most are descended from people who came here after the civil war or from places where it was illegal to own slaves, or (most likely) from families that couldn't afford slaves.
I'm guessing the remaining 5% of white people come from privileged families that have had power and influence for generations in America -- the Frelinghuysen and Rothschild types.
In short, probably a bunch of RINO country-clubbers & limousine liberals. There's also the pesky fact that Obama is most likely the descendant of slave owners rather than slaves.

Yep. This article pretty much confirms my theory. Examples of modern day celebs whose ancestors owned slaves include Anderson Cooper (related to the Vanderbilts), David Cameron (related to British royalty), the Bush family (WASP new england clan), Richard Dawkins (direct descendent of Henry Dawkins who owned 1,013 slaves in Jamaica), John McCain, and of course, Barack Obama.
Time to pay up, boys!
Until they can show us how anyone can have any choice in who his ancestors were, no one should have to feel guilt over any ancestor (unless, of course, one of them was a Democratic office-holder).
Obama had slaveholding ancestors on his mother's side. When is Henry Louis Gates going to do a program on them?

That and his desire to hide the truth, pretty well sums up why he is such a strong Democrat.
If: Actor
Then: Strong suspicion of inadequate IQ, serious moral problems coupled with inability to reason and tell the truth.
If: Liberal Actor
Then: Suspicions confirmed.
Some of my ancestors had slaves, but I most ashamed of my Great-Great-Grandfather who was a Democratic state rep in the 1860s.
Slave Master Ben Affleck!
There goes Ben’s political aspirations. No longer an aspiring democrat pol.
Ben Afleck prospered on the back of black slaves. NOW it is confirmed. He owes them millions. Pay up heir of Slavers!
