A reporter is under fire for texting during the National Anthem and refusing to apologize.
Helena Andrews, who writes the Reliable Source gossip column for The Washington Post, was caught on video using her cell phone as the "Star Spangled Banner" played Saturday at the 2015 White House Correspondents dinner. Andrews appeared to be typing with her head down, glued to her smartphone's screen, while other attendees stood solemnly with their hands over their hearts until the patriotic song finished....
"Apparently someone saw me on TV 'texting' during the dinner. FTR (For The Record) I was taking notes. On my phone. Because it's 2015," she tweeted.

My daughters live in NYC. Sometimes when they get together with friends at a restaurant, the cell phones are stacked in the middle of table. If anyone picks one up during the meal, he or she gets the bill.

I bet you half the people in the US couldn't even recite The pledge of allegiance, nor are aware there even is a US Flag Code.

Unfortunately it did not work out too well re: Liberia.
Perhaps her flag is of the Marcus Garvey variety used by so called black nationalists.
That is one of the reasons why they like the “indivisible” portion of the pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Note they do not like pledging allegiance to the Constitution.
Liberia was an attempt at repatriation via artificial or hybrid nationhood and was doomed from the start. I propose repatriation back into the existing societies.

I seriously doubt it. The dumbing down of America by the liberal media has been effective. Most people nowadays want to stay at home and watch sitcoms and get their government handouts. Patriotism is represented on television as something stupid.

Some muzzies police chief refused to honor the Pledge recently.
All they have to do is just turn their phones completely off during the meal if they don't want to be bothered! Can't 20-somethings figure that out?

I don't think the pile is to address incoming calls; Nobody calls anymore. It's to ensure people at the table stay engaged with the group. Yeah, 20-somethings know how to work their phones just fine. Better than we 50-somethings do.
