Sports Grid ^ | April 25th, 2015 | Henry McKenna

ESPN’s Keith Olbermann wants the United States to address its issues with rape and domestic abuse. And whether the sporting world knows it or not, fans are given the opportunity to do just that during the 2015 NFL Draft and the upcoming Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao fight.

Jameis Winston is dealing with allegations of sexual assault and Mayweather has five instances of domestic abuse on his criminal record. Yet, Winston is looking like a lock at the No. 1-overall pick, and Mayweather continues to box in the arguably highest profile event in the history of boxing.

Does this mean we should boycott the WNBA because of the domestic violence charges against some players?

Olbermann is working himself up to another psychotic episode. He'll be fired again soon. Probably not for this (which will embolden him to engage in more extreme posturing that will lead to the firing offense), but soon.

Remind me... who is this Keith Olberman again?

Wonder if Olbermann realizes that the world will not notice his absence or passing.

Politics and political correctness will destroy pro sports.

It will happen the same way it has been turning a large segment of the movie and TV industries away from making movies and shows that entertain to creating irritating lectures thinly disguised as entertainment that scold, preach diversity, and push senseless political correctness in the face of the viewer.

Boxing is a brutal, dumb sport, the object of which us to cause a concussion in another human being for the edification of a jaded crowd which would not be out of place at the Colliseum . I would support outlawing it if the savages who participate in it would be effectively deterred thereby. As it is, we can at least control it by allowing it to continue.

Don’t like K.O. but he is right here. Sports figures should not be allowed to continue performing in a public forum when they act like brutal savages. They create a negative role model for young people - as if they don’t have enough negative
role models from the movies and tv.

I'm surprised Keith isn't in the looney bin. I remember the night Republicans took the House. He was a talking head at MSNBC then. He had a meltdown on live TV. Called the voters too stupid to live or something. It usually hate watching boring election results, but this was hilarious.

Olbermann got fired by ESPN once before and subsequently by a few others. Time to fire him again and hopefully nobody will hire this nut.

I agree with boycotting the fight. The charges against Jameis Winston were dropped so that is a little more arguable, could have been a publicity stunt, more about image than the act itself.
