The union looking to organize workers at Boeing's South Carolina plant has put its plans in a holding pattern, claiming workers are so opposed to signing up that they chased labor leaders off their porches at gunpoint.
The North Charleston plant, which opened in the right-to-work state four years ago and builds fuselages for 747s and 787s, employs about 7,500 workers. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers had been trying to build support for a vote this week on unionizing 3,175 production and maintenance workers, but called off the vote days before it was to happen.

I'll take "Ironical Ironies that make me LOL" for 200 next Alex...
Don’t screw the “good ole boys”. Nuff said.
I bet the workers did not use the word take in front of off!
North Charleston isn’t exactly the “nice” part of town
Man I would have paid to see it though. Cuz that is funny right there....
There’s my favorite loser gif again.
LOL! No, just a realist. That part of the country is super, super anti union, that is why Boeing went there.
“workers are so opposed to signing up that they chased labor leaders off their porches at gunpoint”
It’s long past due that union thugs get a taste of their own medicine.
Former member of the IAW and the UAW.
I wasn’t very popular, as I was going to college at night to escape their nonsense.
I worked around union dorks on Construction jobs. They tried to bar us from working at a site they were striking one time. Dumb thugs brought clubs. We showed our bang sticks and they rethought their position on letting us in. Never had another problem at that site.

Ha, ha.....The union doesn't seem to like the shoe being on the other foot as these are the same tactics the unions normally employ.....
Maybe the union thugs should have left when they were told to. Anyone comes to my house, onto my property uninvited and makes a nuisance of themselves... They are going to get asked to leave. Then they are going to get told to leave. If they are still here, their last warning will come over the barrel of a firearm aimed at them and be accompanied by the words "I now consider you a threat to my life..." just to keep it all legal. What happens in the next few seconds is up to them.
So far I've only ever had to get as far as the "told to leave." Though I'm pretty sure he looked down and noted that my right hand was behind me, out of sight. I figure he (correctly) assumed there was a loaded weapon in that hand.
Funny thing about answering the door with a weapon in hand - always check to see who is on your stoop before opening the door. One evening I looked out to see a pair of Sheriff's deputies. I discretely slipped the Glock into the drawer of a table by the door before opening it. Figured it might get the deputies excited or something. ;-) And no, they weren't there for me, just wanted to see if I had seen anything/anyone on the street earlier. Apparently there was a break in down the street.
Good for you G, sometimes you just can’t be on their side.
When you are of sound mind you can’t let the “lapel grabbers” force you to think their way. Labor relations has always been a sticky business for both Management and Labor. A hot head on either side ruins it for all of the company employees and stockholders. Been there, done that. It is amazing how usually normal people become when the thugs get them riled up. Unions have had their place in history but now have been weakened by choosing the wrong battles at the wrong time. Eastern Airlines is a good example. I stopped paying dues 17 years before I retired. Saved about $50,000. They had ceased to represent the core of our group and couldn’t be ousted. Had a few loyal friends after that but found out who was not.
I always wonder were it originated.
About time someone showed some backbone!
