She was an obvious threat to his safety, so slamming her to the ground was necessary. /s/

She's lucky he didn't shoot her in the back.
I think it's shameful that so many people are recording police violence. Don't they know that this makes police look like thugs who can get away with anything because they wear a badge? (What you say they ARE thugs who can get away with anything because they wear a badge?) Well don't you want them to go home to their families at night? or how about "We don't know the whole story" After all she MIGHT have "resisted" later and besides it's fun to hurt someone (if you're a cop) Our heroes are going to have to be more circumspect with their fun. What's the point of being a cop if you can beat or even kill people and get away with it?
He's just part of the 90% that give the other 10% a bad name

Another day, another out-of-control cop with management protection. Jail them all. Needs to be a stop to this abuse of citizenry.

This woman was clearly intoxicated. She was putting her daughter at risk and was about to put her (and whoever they might have crashed into) at risk again. Furthermore, drunk like that, she could have run over some poor innocent dog or cat on the road.
Resisting arrest = consequences. Do NOT resist arrest. We are a nation without values. Once we have a dictator, it will be worse than this because people can not control themselves. What a downhill slide we are on. And then, you have people arguing FOR he woman. We're lost.

I’m surprised the cop didn’t shoot her 6 year old kid for crying, i.e. causing a public disturbance.

not only because Keith was resisting arrest, but because she'd been driving around with her daughter while clearly drunk. So the officer is authorized to administer punishment on the spot. Does the judge now take into account "punishment already administered," when he is levying her DUI etc penalties?

So we have two sins here: the cop’s escalatino of force, and the DUI mother.
No one wins, this time.
And I’m with Gaffer: HuffingtonCompost doesn’t get my hit.

I'm glad she didn't get to endanger herself, her daughter, or innocents by continuing to drive drunk.
How it was done is open to interpretation and improvement.
