Jersey City rated 10th greenest cities in America by online study

Just in time for Earth Day, Jersey City has been rated the 10th greenest city in America, according to an online study.

NerdWallet.com, a financial research website that provides consumer-driven advice and analysis, compiled its list by examining the nation's 150 largest cities and evaluating them based on a number of criteria, including air quality index, housing density, energy sources and choice of transportation.

Jersey City rated favorably in public transportation, as 46 percent of commuters use public transportation to get to work. Only New York scored higher in this category, at 56 percent

Maybe someone can correct me....but I thought Jersey City was high-crime and a fairly dangerous place to hang out (after dark). Frankly, you can be as green as you want....but if it’s not safe....then I’d be worried.

Well, the earth is more important than people. I'm not sure exactly why, though.

They have a long way to go before they reach their ultimate goal (Pyongyang, North Korea) but Democrat politicians are working on it.

According to the study, for every 10,000 buildings in Jersey City, 2.7 are heated by solar power.

Wow, this green stuff is really catching on!
