Welcome to Liberland, population 250,000…and anyone else looking for a tax haven.
A self-professed Libertarian politician from the Czech Republic says he has created a new, sovereign country on the Croatian-Serbia border where citizens decide their own tax burden, property and individual rights are respected and the national motto is "Live and Let Live."

Hummmmm? That’s like a brand new USA maybe starting up? Sounds like that old discarded irrelevant piece of parchment that Obama and Reid and pelosi like. So much to defecwte on — what Is it Obama calls it ? The con-stick-it-to-them?

As open border libertarians I expect that Africa and Muslims will fill them up pretty quickly.
Sounds great until somebody decides to invade them.
The U.S. Constitution and the freedom America experienced under it, is probably the closest thing to a man-made and God-blessed paradise this side of Heaven.
Liberland? Sounds fruity to me. The concept sounds good but we need more concrete attributes such as bearing arms, border defense, money etc. Right now, it just sounds like a nice place to set up an offshore account.
Doubt existing governments will allow this microstate to take off, but at least it’s a serious proposal, whereas most microstates seek not sovereignty but merely humor value.
Terrible choice of headline.
Bullcrap. They will survive. They will raise taxes to pay for the military. Also, they will raise taxes so that they can educate their children through K12, perhaps beyond. They will also raise taxes so that they can cure their sick and provide for their elderly. They will, needless to say, tax the businesses and automobiles so that they can build their infrastructure. Oh, and they will start printing their money so that they can be in control of their economy. It will be a free place. Just wait.
Interesting analysis.
Some will flourish until those who do not realize they can claim it’s not fair and the govt need to level the playing field and redistribute wealth.
