Republican Party Wrestles With Immigration Stance as It Courts Hispanics Texas fight over college benefits for immigrants highlights GOP split By LAURA MECKLER April 17, 2015 HOUSTON—Republicans here want to repeal the 14-year-old law that allows immigrants, legal or not, the benefit of in-state college tuition, and for Artemio Muniz, defending the law is both personal and political.

As the U.S.-born son of Mexican parents who lived as illegal immigrants, Mr. Muniz sees higher education as the American way to the middle class.

As a Republican activist eyeing an increasingly diverse electorate,...

WSJ is a big-time supporter of amnesty, so hence the narrative. This type of story also appeared on the NBC News website.

With 600 million people south of our porous non-existent southern border and untold millions outside the Americas who might also avail themselves of easy access, there can be only one immigration policy - take away the incentives to cheat the system and enter illegally. Stop giving prizes for illegal entry. Reverse the incentives in order to make legal entry the more attractive path.

Any measure that permits those who entered illegally to benefit from that illegal act is amnesty.

Your post is exactly what needs to happen. If a Conservative candidate would just uncompromisingly stand up for enforcement of the laws currently on the books, stop the anchor babies, and seal the border, I truly believe that person would be elected. I have never talked to anyone who didn’t want that.

All Americans of Hispanic descent are not illegal aliens. All illegal aliens are not Hispanic. Hard to explain to the MSM tho.

More propaganda from The Ministry Of Propaganda to convince us to give up the rule of law and our country.

The RNC/GOP wants the flow of labor to continue to please their donors.

The Democrats rightly see these new arrivals as their ticket to one party rule.

No one represents the citizens, whose country this is.

Doesn’t failing to stem the invasion and colonization of this country start to get close to becoming “destructive to these ends”?

The citizens retain the right to “alter or abolish” that which has become destructive.

Open Borders WSJ will only support RINOs who support continued slave labor coming from South of the Border, down Mexico way!

Bingo! Don’t look for honest immigration reporting from the WSJ: they have consumed the Kool Aid.

Here it is.

Those currently coming across the border are younger and very likely have the same skills set as you do. They will probably accept less to practice those skills here. That will translate into lower wages for you.

Reverse the incentives in order to make legal entry the more attractive path.

NONSENSE We have the most generous legal immigration system in the world. We take in more legal immigrants than the rest of the world combined. We need to REDUCE legal immigration from the current 1.1 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS ANNUALLY to around 300,000, which was the norm from 1925 to 1965. In 1970 there were 9.7 foreign born in this country. It is now over 40 million and most of them are here legally.

And say it right, articulate the facts in such a way as to get around the MSM.

I think you’ve misunderstood. My point is that currently all the incentives are in favor of illegal entry. I’m advocating removing the incentives that draw people to skip the legal process and just wade across the Rio Grande. I’m NOT saying to increase the current legal immigration. In fact, I’d reduce it as well. I’d go back to the pre-’65 quota system with sponsors and surety bonds.

I so much wish Cruz would adopt this list. He has said the laws on the books need to be enforced but he hasn’t elaborated on that.

“allows immigrants, legal or not, the benefit of in-state college tuition”

The multinational corporations, who owe no allegiance to our country, want to displace American workers by importing cheap foreign labor, and expect citizens to pick up the tab for educating them.

We need to send the illegal invaders home, cut legal immigration drastically, and heavily fine businesses who wilfully flout our immigration laws.

The GOP are fools....most legal immigrants hate the illegals....there more likely to vote for a party that would put an end to it...I would guess that there are a lot less legal immigrants on welfare??

Oh, the GOP are bigger fools than that. You’re making the mistake of seeing the GOP as actually independent thinkers who are being fooled. They aren’t, they’re woned by the same oligarchy who run the democrap party also. Illegals are one leg of a stool aimed at destroying The Republic. The GOP are doing what they’re told by their owners.
