Mystery of the 'alien' signals solved: Baffled astronomers trace source of noise to the observatory's kitchen MICROWAVE
Strange signals, known as perytons, originated near to the planet Scientists could not explain where they were coming from for decades They replicated signal by opening microwave door while still running
For years, scientists have been trying to uncover the source of mysterious radio signals being picked up in Australia.
Theories have ranged from evaporating black holes to extraterrestrial communication and mergers of neutron stars.
Now researchers at the Parkes Observatory claim they have finally found the source of these 'alien' signals - in their kitchen microwave.
Scientists knew the strange signals, known as perytons, originated somewhere near to the planet, but they had no idea just how close.
In fact, the microwave was next door in the staff kitchen and visitors centre at the observatory.

The Universe should have been teeming with intelligent life - something doesn’t add up.
absolutely hilarious...
Hal: Vern Vern, come quick I got something
Vern: [removing coffee from microwave] What?
Vern: Never mind it’s gone now
Vern: Hal Hal come quick I think I hear it.
Hal: [removing soup from microwave] What?
Vern: Never mind it’s gone now.
etc popcorn, etc potato, etc eggroll
One of my favorite movies
Our new popcorn overlords.
There is one radio telescope in West Virginia (Green Bank)where digital cameras are not allowed. The noise from the microprocessors throw off observations. Yes, that sensitive! I would be willing to bet that even the computers are shielded to reduce stray noise.
Actually, it was Occam’s microwave in this case.
Will NASA revise their prediction?
Yikes! I remember that one.
Awesome. Complete radio emissions control FAIL. This is what happens when you have a “visitors center kitchen” inside a radio measurement facility.
Been up there a couple of times. Quite an experience, especially at night with no clouds and no Moon. You must park your sparkplug vehicle and ride the diesel bus when on the campus.
Ah, the “experts” strike again.
See what having a Radar in the kitchen can lead to? Confused astronomers. I do not have a microwave..
Radar not being used for military purposes, meteorology, or navigation should be directed at the Russian Embassy or the U.N.
No doubt it was almost settled science up to that point - real alien signals.
Now they are working on a new study - why aliens would choose to send their signals to us via microwave ovens. Viva la science!
Which is why i wonder why anyone takes their word as gospel, or doctors, for that matter, to let them do irreversible things like vaccines to them. After all weve found out about corruption and mistakes and coverups and altered studies. We dont lok at journolists as altruists with no agenda, its hardly wise to look at anyone without agendas, known and unknown.
Somebody is in BIG TROUBLE for spilling the beans!
NASA management was already lining up funding “to further explorer this mystery.”
Just as they’ve been doing with the global warming hoax.
Beware of aliens bearing Hot Pockets.
