Marco Rubio takes a shot at Rand Paul over potentially running for Senate and White House
Washington Examiner ^ | May 13, 2014 | Joel Gehrke

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., took a shot at Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., when asked about the possibility of running simultaneously for re-election to the Senate and for the presidency in 2016.

"If someone decides to run for president of the United States, you run for president of the United States," Rubio said at the National Press Club. "I don't believe you can run effectively for an office of that magnitude while having some exit strategy in mind."

Every last one of them supports immoral, unconstitutional “and then you can kill the baby” legislation. That’s just for starters.

So, while I’m thrilled to see you posting, my friend, I have to disagree with you on this. And probably most of FReeperdom too, but oh well.

Your friends here would rather talk about YOU! Do you have any idea how happy we are to see you join us? God bless you first of all! And, he has! So good to have you able to share your head and heart with us again! I marvel at your political wisdom and your all star experiences have formed it well. You know this country. Thank you so much for pinging me.

Now, whoo hoo! I whole heartedly agree with you on us conservatives keeping our dang chill on long enough to let a few things play out. If I understood one report tonight correctly, the first vote will not be cast until February, 2016. Hang up the pitch fork against our own bench and turn them loose for awhile.

Can we just imagine for even a minute what we can do with five or six, or seven of our stellar candidates lining up together against the global Hillary machine and her media for a few months. That is, if we don’t get worked over by them, first, and balkanize among ourselves and do their dirty work for them. For us to eat our own for the purpose of saving Hillary’s bankroll to do the same darn thing is a huge helping hand to the Left and certainly the sole assignment of the media.

Don’t we know they have their calendar out already, betting on how long it will take to get us to fracture?

I have been singing the same song and that we need to “Hold, Hold....HOOOOLD, until we see the whites of their eyes”, so to speak. We have every advantage with keeping our field on their feet as long as possible.

God bless them all! And keep good care of yourself, Black Elk! Rita.

There are no Romneys and no McCains so far in this field.

I beg to differ, if anything Jeb might actually be worse than both of them. Immigration, education, plus the last name of a family that has lost so much for us as conservatives.

Rubio also blew it big time, and is not trustworthy.

Be patient. I have just spent six months off the internet. I can be wrong. I have been wrong in my overall view of third party candidacies in discussions with you in 2008.

I am kinda hoping that Her Satanic Majesty will not be choosing SCOTUS and other federal judges or re-opening the money changers' tables at the Clinton pardon office.

I have no doubt as to the integrity and sincerity of your posts. OTOH, your first sentence needs some specifics as to Rubio, Paul, Cruz and Walker, at least. Surely some day a truly constitutionalist GOP candidate may emerge. Even if the candidate is not perfect, close counts in politics as well as in horseshoes.

Your principled presence here does more good than you may suspect. OTOH, the four candidates I have named are not down there with McCain and Romney. We desperately need at least some realistic hope for a victory in the Electoral College. Four more years (under the Medusa) of what we have suffered these last eight years will be the death knell of our republic (already terribly damaged) as surely as was the murder of Cicero the death knell of the Roman Republic. And Cicero had demonstrated some capacity for corruption but his principled speeches, writings and orations were the last effective support for his republic. It died with him.

I want very much to agree with you, but I and others, need specific reasons with factual support for those reasons. You do a lot of teaching here. Teach!

As always, God bless you and yours!

How good it is to hear from our Freeperis Emeritus at last! I am so glad to hear your wizened voice in these pages once again, my friend. I very much hope that you are doing better now.

I also hope ... that, as conservatives, we shall refrain from unnecessarily vitriolic comments at ANY of the essentially conservative candidates for the GOP POTUS nomination.

I might give that plea short shrift coming from anyone other than you, but due to the deep respect and admiration you've earned in this community, I will honestly take your admonition to heart.

...we can’t discount his intelligence.

What masters does his (alleged) intelligence serve? The man was a willing participant in the Gang of 8 amnesty attempt.

Praise God! Thank You merciful Lord!
Dearest Black Elk, I am so happy to see you here, I can barely read your words of wisdom!
My hands are shaking much more than usual.
I can’t recall the last time I was so happy!
God bless and keep you.
I believe in the power of prayer and you are living proof.
I must go get some ice water.
XOXOXOXO

I’m with you on his sellout with the Gang of Eight, but the guy is intelligent. Except for immigration and amnesty the man is knowledgable about a whole range of subjects. He could run rings around any of the Dems running. I don’t plan to vote for him either, but the guy is smart. That’s all I’m saying.

If his intelligence serves evil (and it has), then I don't give a damn how smart he is.

Likewise, he won't ever get a vote from me, because of it.

Windflier...they are ‘all’ going to have to bend on amnesty no matter who gets the Presidency, for the global plans for Canada, USA, and Mexico is already in full swing and has been for sometime.

The momentum for what they’re planning for N.America cannot be stopped because so much of it is being done via many foundation groups and corporate entities whose actions are rarely seen or reported for public consumption.

The CEO’s and any who will require manpower, as well as those insistent the third world countries must be “mined” of their resources, are going to have work forces who cross the borders in a free flow of people, now very much seen as a commodity.

We are well past fighting amnesty...it’s simply a matter of how they frame it for our consumption...and or take the medicine like it or not. Amnesty is simply a political talking point but the end result is already on the books.

Rubio is a degenerate opportunistic prick who will do or say anything to get elected or get ahead.

Even Jeb Bush refused to sign legislation making Florida a primary seat belt enforcement offense state, as well as signing a law that prevented local municipalities from passing cell phone driving prohibitions or laws that made it illegal to carry a loaded gun in your glove compartment without some kind of “permit”.

Rubio conspired with the orange faggot Charlie Crist to pass legislation to make Florida a primary seat belt enforcement state, and would have done worse if he hadn’t gone WASHINGTONIAN.

This TWERP has also NEVER had a real job outside government.

He’s the new GODDAMNED MITT ROMNEY.

Reject with EXTREME PREJUDICE.

I disagree that Jeb is as bad as McCain or Romney. Mittens is the epitome of GOP evil (2nd generation). McCain should be institutionalized as being that Republican that is nuttier than a fruitcake more than any other since Ron Paul retired.

OTOH, I did not suggest that Jeb is an acceptable candidate. Support for Common Core is intolerable. Having GHWB as his father and particularly having Barbara Bush as his mother (and looking sooooo much like her) is intolerable. Having as his base of support the usual corrupt gang of Wall Street financiers, the US Chamber of Commerce and the foreign policy elite of the Council on Foreign Relations is intolerable. Romney had George Romney as his father and (I forget her first name: Lenore?) a pro-abort as his mother and was at least as bad or worse on all other counts. Just being more acceptable than Mitt Romney is a verrrrry low bar to hurdle.

I was once favorable to the immigration. Obozo has cured me of that. OTOH, this issue is a tad more sticky than we ordinarily recognize. How DO we resolve it?

The last Guy who was in fact perfect was crucified for His efforts, I am not expecting to see His equivalent in mere politics. Saving this republic, successfully defending moral values, appointing good judges, rolling back the evils of the Clinton and Obozo years (and all Bush shortcomings as well) re-establishing our foreign policy priorities and effectiveness, re-arming the US military, ending the violations of civil liberties, taking a battle axe to the IRS and other objectionable and politicized bureaucracies, abolishing BATF, disarming the various bureaucracies armed outside of their traditions.

I have come very close to death from kidney failure and other symptoms of wearing out. I crave a victory in 2016 far more than in 2012 when it was impossible for conservatives to win since Romney was no conservative and just as bad as Obozo.

Thanks. BlackElk totally deserves some sort of special title around here. He's provided more value to this forum than any ten of us combined.

Same here, and I put my money where my mouth is, too. I've never sent money to any political candidate, but I sent Ted Cruz a small donation after hearing his announcement speech.

I'm going to do everything I can to ensure that he's the 45th President of The United States.

Yep me too! and you know what....if he doesn’t win this Presidency it’s well worth ‘the investment’ because Cruz is getting the word out there people need to hear .....He’s one of the first Candidates I will not feel I’ve lost my money on win or loose.... It’s the message he’s delivering to remind people we who we are as Americans and what we stand for, and inform those who don’t know because our educational system no longer teaches them. It’s a win win investment!!!!
