Hillary Clinton plans to build her planned quest for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination on a risky strategy that touts a "new chapter" that builds on President Barack Obama's efforts and embraces her 2008 opponent as a key ally and adviser.
Clinton, 67, who is expected to announce her candidacy on Sunday, "is proud of what was accomplished, both as President Obamas partner on critical issues of national security, and on the progress made on the domestic front," her spokesman, Nick Merrill, told The New York Times.
Merrill added that Clinton's campaign, "would be about laying out her own vision for tackling our toughest challenges."
The Times sums up the dilemma facing Clinton this way: "How can she run for president as her own person, without criticizing the sitting president she served while her Republican opponents will be working to demonize them both?"
The former secretary of state can take little credit for many of what Obama considers as his strongest domestic accomplishments Obamacare, for instance and she opens herself to widespread attacks regarding such foreign policy issues as Israel, Iran, and Russia, the Times reports.

Someone was kind enough to bring something to my attention a few minutes ago. I was mistaken (as I thought I might be) that a priest was the person who led Hillary Rhodam astray.
I received the following FReepMail and wanted to set the record straight.
- - -
It wasnt a priest, it was a looney, lefty Methodist, just recently hatched minister, who wasnt the HEAD minister, just the YOUTH MINISTER, who took Hitlery and a bunch of teens FROM THE SUBURBS, to the South Side of Chicago and filled their heads with lefty crap.
Her lefty college days finished the job, so that by the time she was a senior, she was a rabid, raging Saul Alinsky lefty.

My thanks to an over 16 year FReeper whose memory was better than mine. I appreciate your note.
I forget the guy’s name, but he wasn’t a priest; he was a Methodist.
For southern democrats...vying for positions within various states in 2016 (county commission, mayor, state legislature, AG, Gov)....this is a fairly harmful tactic by a national candidate and would decrease their odds of winning. I would imagine disgust would be the appropriate term to use. They’ve been waiting to uncouple themselves from the President’s agenda and this doesn’t achieve that.
That’s a very good point, and does address a dynamic that many folks would fail to consider. Thank you.
I will have to state here though, I honestly don’t know how anyone could remain a Democrat these days. If these folks have a problem with the national polices, they need to get out of the party. If enough of them did, the party would take corrective measures. They’d have to.
This dynamic plays on our side too. Many of us remain a registered Republican because there really isn’t another place to go that is viable. Tens of millions of us should re-register to make it damn clear we’re sick of what has or better yet hasn’t been taking place from the Republican Party.
Nobody wants that.
The NYTIMES gospel is the good news that Hillary Jesus Christ has risen from the dead and conquered nothing death.
She will lose as sure as the sun will rise in the East.
Bank on it Padre.
"Imagine - President Hillary and Atorney General Moochie Obama for for 8 years."
"Then President Moochie Obama for the next 8 years. By then Chelsea will be ready to step in to the presidency...."
How can you sleep at night?
Of course I hope so.
I just wish I hadn’t met so many people who either don’t know that all Democrats are pro-abortion, and think they are “for the little guy,” etc., or else don’t care that all Democrats are pro-abortion.
And the vast majority of Republican office-holders view abortion as an issue to be exploited for votes, not as an evil that will destroy the country.
I don’t know about excited, but someone has to continue to try to give her some grief.
If she rides on The Won’s legacy she is a bigger fool than I thought.
Or maybe not...The Won’s base still think he is the best president we have ever had.
“Call Heidi and tell her to take the girls shopping for drapes, china and fixtures for the living quarters.”........
After the current “trailer trash” leaves the WH and takes everything but the sewer pipes, trying to out do the Clinton’s first stint there, who ever gets to take up residence there will have a lot of “replenishing” to get done.
For the last six years it has always been night.
Too many variables at this stage. I can only hope that Hillary affects her voters like old mash potatoes. Call it the Romney effect. The key voters yawn and just stay home on election day.
I am confident that she will say something bizarre, stupid and/or disagreeable that will turn off the LIVs, more than once. She has been protected her whole, sorry, political career. But, Mid-westerners are not New Yorkers. When she tries something like "you did not build that" on the country class, there will be a backlash.
Also known as Jimmy Carter’s fourth term.
You doubt?
Watch how quickly the New York Times switches over to calling Hillary "Clinton".. That's what Nick Merrill should have told The New York Times - the truth.
No doubt some of Obama’s votes, particularly black voters who never had to produce a voter ID, were a result of multiple voting. If he’s not on the ticket, they might not want to risk such a trick again. She’s got to come up with even more women and maybe this new wave of “refugees” who shouldn’t be voting at all will find their ways into a voting booth to replace the missing “multiple” black voters.
