Why Rand Paul Will Win
Daily Caller ^ | 04/11/2015 | W. JAMES ANTLE III

Call off the Iowa caucuses. Cancel the New Hampshire primary. Let’s all head to Cleveland to name the 2016 Republican presidential nominee right now.

The race is over. Rand Paul has won. There is no way he can be denied.

How can I say that before a single vote has been cast, before most of the field has even declared? Simple: Dick Morris has predicted Paul can’t win.

Morris’ predictions are almost always wrong. Ergo, Rand Paul is now a heavy favorite to clinch the nomination.

Everyone who makes political forecasts with any frequency is going to make mistakes, me included. The crystal ball is sometimes cloudy. It’s hard to overcome personal biases and see the world as it really is.

But it is even harder to find a political prognosticator who has been wrong so routinely and in such an over-the-top fashion as Dick Morris.

Whatever mojo he had when advising Bill Clinton, Trent Lott, Jesse Helms and Howard Metzenbaum as a political strategist went out the window when he became a pundit.

Remember Mitt Romney’s 2012 landslide? “I believe he’ll win by more than five points in the popular vote,” Morris said. “I think he’ll get 325 electoral votes.”

On his projected electoral map, Morris picked Romney to win Pennsylvania, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Virginia, New Hampshire and Ohio. Barack Obama won all of those states.

“[T]here is no chance that Obama will get re-elected,” Morris once confidently asserted. “I don’t agree that’s true,” Sean Hannity protested.

“Zilch, none, zip, nada,” Morris shot back.

In 2011, Morris didn’t think Obama was even going to run for re-election.

I am frustrated that Morris predicted that Paul can’t win. He is not my favorite candidate. Morris making that prediction is definitely a strong indication that Paul CAN win. Morris has always been an excellent predictor of future events in a negative way. I only remember him getting something right once and it must not have been terribly significant because I don’t remember what it was that he got right.

Dick is like a blind squirrel... He has found a nut. Rand can’t win.

The same acorn located by a blind squirrel and put in Paul’s cup.

He might win the YUPPIE vote and make inroads into college towns, but he’ll end up doing about as well as every other libertarian candidate has done.

It is delusional for anyone to predict who will win the coveted crown in Nov. 2016. There are a lot of things that can and will change between now and then. My only hope and prayer is that a conservative takes this country back from those who seek to destroy it. Assuming it is a conservative, who ever does win will have more than their hands full to turn this country back to the right path. GOD BLESS whom ever that person turns out to be..

“Rand Paul has one mighty handicap - his father.”

Paul is the perfect VP choice. He appeals to a younger audience that Hillary can’t match. His appearance before that black audience gave him street cred. Plus as VP he gets the Senate.

With Cruz at the top, it also brings in more of the Latino vote than what Romney got. Hillary’s only counter to that is Castro from HUD.

I think we all got taken in originally because he was part of the Clinton Crime Family, turned on them, and spewed out the dirt. No, he’s a fraud who turned himself into a media commentator who’s never been right about anything. Are you all still waiting for the Hillary/Condi Rice presidential matchup? He and the rest of the Arkansas Mob belong in the snake house with all the other slimy crawlers.

Making predictions this far out is down right stupid ..... Carly Fiorina will be the VP nominee.

Dick Morris has a very bad batting average but it’s not zero. So he gets on base with this one. Big deal. He remains an easy out, his occasional singles or walks notwithstanding.

The bottom line is RP can’t win, no matter what Dick Morris says about anything.
