CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- A fraternity at the University of Virginia announced Monday that it will "pursue all available legal action" against Rolling Stone, saying a Columbia Journalism School review shows the magazine acted recklessly and defamed its members by publishing an article that falsely accused them of gang rape.
"The Rolling Stone article viewed by millions fueled a court of public opinion that ostracized Phi Kappa Psi members and led to vandalism of the fraternity house," the fraternity's statement said

All the Rolling Stone has to do is find a lefty judge. As if that’s going to be hard to do!
I hope they sue the school too.....Disgrace all the way around.
utterly outrageous!!
Id think that they might want to consider settling out of court to avoid the embarassment!
Rolling Stone is now employing the John Stewart defense: “Hey, we’re just a dumb music magazine. What do we know about being jounalists, huh? Stop busting our balls!”
They got the first part.... of that quote..right!!
check our sources?? naw that’s OLD SCHOOL...so last century!
They should also sue the university professor on a personal level.
I hope Rolling Stone’s libel insurance I paid up, because Id hate to see the magazine fold because they missed a payment. Snort.
And now Rolling Stone can point out the strong steps they took to correct the situation, like finding NO ONE was actually responsible .... yeah, that should impress a court
Sue ‘em. And go after every tv, radio, and print outlet that repeated the lie.
I think they should sue rolling stone into poverty
Put them out of business.
ahahaha I’d think they should get a very sizable award from this fiasco!
who would notice?
I believe that the lawsuit has to be filed in the district where the offense occurred. I don’t know if that means in Duke’s district or the fraternity’s district.
I think the lawsuit will be very painful. Everybody will be a part of it and if they do settle out of court the figure is going to be huge if RS can even afford it. These frat boys are so young too and that will be with them for many years.
They will try to settle out of court for a token sum but since they have already printed a retraction, going to court would be basically to try to reduce the damages.
Sue their maggot infested pot smoking bad smelling America hating a$$es off
What?
I hope the fraternity lawsuit burns a huge hole in RS's operating checkbook.
