[VIDEO] Rand Paul to announce 2016 run tomorrow
The Right Scoop ^ | 04/06/2015 | The Right Scoop

It looks like Rand Paul will be announcing a presidential run tomorrow according to his new campaign video that says on April 7 a different kind of Republican will take on Washington:

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has told her staff to be ready at any moment for a presidential campaign announcement:

THE HILL – Most staffers hired for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign have no idea when she’ll announce, according to a CNN report, but have been told that they must be ready to start their campaign roles at any moment — starting Monday.

Until then, they are working out of an office meant for her personal staff, according to the report. The campaign-in-waiting’s digital team has reportedly been operating out of the space’s kitchen.
The team is also reportedly considering various aspects of messaging for the campaign, which is expected to launch in the next few weeks after Clinton signed a lease on an office space in Brooklyn.

When she launches her campaign and begins traveling to Iowa and New Hampshire, the network also reported, she will not be accompanied by her husband, President Bill Clinton.

And I’m sure when Hillary does announce, the media will forget all about her email scandal just as they’ve already forgotten about Benghazi.

It's always been about Rand, never about a united front. He could've earned a lot of supporters by backing Cruz, but he has to be petulant like his dad.

Do the Paulbots really need a reminding?

Rand Slams Congress for Funding Egypt’s Generals: ‘How Does Your Conscience Feel Now?’
Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists. [by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning Christian-murdering jihadists]

Rand Paul On Shutdown: “Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea”
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it’s a conundrum. Here’s the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can’t give the president a blank check. We just can’t keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can’t vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don’t we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly “eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don’t always all agree on every issue” ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... “We’re going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party,” Paul said.

Rand Paul’s immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration. Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution. Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation. Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants. If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you... This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but “Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration.” ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] “Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

Rand Paul was a Romney man in 2012, he couldn’t support Cruz.

I like Rand, he’s very measured... and as much as I like Cruz politically, he has terrible stage presence and looks like howdy doody. I still see Walker as the best Presidential candidate moving forward.
An image consultant should have worked with Cruz, long ago... I know that sounds mean, but the superficial aspects of politics and higher office have always been a factor. Cruz is great for creating fire in the base of his support... beyond that? I don’t see it, he’s weirdly creepy looking and has off putting mannerisms, and I haven’t even mentioned his horrible intonation and vocal quality. Flame away...

Everybody is entitled to their own preferences regarding looks. Looking like Howdy Doody is preferable to the looks of Rand, who looks like he had a hair transplant on the top of his head taken from his scrotum, IMHO.

I’m underwhelmed. I don’t expect there will be much excitement associated with his announcement. I think he is as high in the polls as he is going to get.

Oh great our next candidate and their endless news for two weeks. Why don’t they all just announce in one day and overwhelm the media.

Understandably since Cruz wasn’t running in 2012. And for him to support Cruz in 2016 would be idiotic since he is running himself. Who is going to support their competition.

A couple of low finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire will end Rand Paul’s campaign in a hurry.

The point was that Paul was a Romney man in 2012,not that Cruz was or wasn’t running, Cruz is vastly superior to Paul, and to the right of him, Paul shouldn’t be running at all.

Paul’s politics are too anti-conservative for most of us.

You’re obviously a very poor judge of character. Check posts 1 and 2 above if you want to see ‘Howdy Doody’. Rand has shown countless times that he won’t stand for conservative principles and is quick to turn his back on us. This is no time for pragmatism with all the crap we’re dealing with now.

"Paul’s politics are too anti-conservative for most of us."

Paul, Cruz and Lee are consistently rated as the three most conservative senators in the US Senate. I like to post FACTS not useless uneducated opinions.

That’s too bad because I would love to see how much Cruz would crush the Paulhroid in the Texas primary.

So listen to Paul, being a Romney like faker, he is trying to create an image of being conservative, while actually campaigning on and promoting a message of liberalism.

Let me guess, you support Paul.

We all voted for Romney in 2012 or should have. Paul has every right to run as does anyone else over 35 years old. He won’t get the nomination so I don’t worry about him at all. Cruz will win the nomination if he does what he needs to do to get the voters to vote for him. If not it will be someone else.

Heritage top 4
Sen. Lee Lifetime Average: 98%
Sen. Paul Lifetime Average: 95%
Sen. Cruz Lifetime Average: 95%
Sen. Rubio Lifetime Average: 89%

Never heard of Crowdpac but I like the graphic and it matches heritage ratings

Crowdpac calculates objective scores for political candidates showing their overall political position and, where possible, their position on specific issues. The scores use a liberal/conservative scale: 10L is the most liberal and 10C is the most conservative.

Cruz is my first choice, Paul is my second choice. Both are solid conservatives. I prefer Cruz since Paul has a habit of going wobbly on illegal immigration from time to time. (So does Cruz, but not as much as Paul) I am a signal issue voter and illegal immigration is my issue.

Some didn’t even endorse Romney, Rand Paul campaigned for him.
