Candidates should be asked to pledge to support this rule change: "Any requirements for prior proof of support for a presidential candidate should affect only the determination of which candidates may be presented to the convention by formal nominating speeches."
2016 ping
Yep, Malkin covered this live as it happened. Boehner and Team Romney rigged the convention so that the GOP-E could select the nominee in 2016.
And we expected something different from the uniparty? Our elections have only slightly less certainty than an election held in stalin era russia.
This time it will be Cruzers, and all other Republicans as non-Cruzers
well, does anybody remember the last Whig candidate as opposed to the first Republican? Because I kind of see history repeating itself here
Cruz & Co. are smart enough to navigate around this.
Remember, Ted plans on bringing a bunch of new Patriots with him when he wins, RINOs already know they’re being primaried.
Mr. RomneyCARE and Obama are both partners of Soros.
QED
We conservatives need to unite behind either Cruz or Walker. What we can’t have is a long fight between Cruz and Walker, where Bush cleans up (even possibly with just a plurality).
If they want to follow stupid rules to make sure a conservative isn't the nominee, then conservatives won't vote for the establishment candidate. It's that simple. Ignore the base and lose.
I don't see conservatives getting steam rolled again like they have before. Too much anger this time.
I sure won't vote for a liberal. Especially a liberal Republican.
Liberal Republicans must be politically destroyed. I'm donating time, effort, and money to make that happen.

I’ve been trying to tell people that Jebster’s nomination has been in the bag since 2012 when they changed the rules and adjusted the primary calendar.
The Cheap Labor Express has paid the RNC for an amnesty candidate.
The RNC means to deliver.
I’m hoping we can pull off a miracle and nominate Ted Cruz like we pulled off here in VA-7 in booting the weasel Eric Cantor. David vs Goliath.

Where necessary, conservatives and delegates should ignore the stupid rules, show up at the convention with a plan, and make trouble. They could turn a prissy, control-freak convention upside-down in no time.
Absolutely correct. Conservatives must coalesce around one candidate very early. We must deny the enemy the high ground.
Candidates, if you are not getting traction, bow out of the race! The nation and perhaps the free world is at stake. Check your egos at the door.
We conservatives need to unite behind either Cruz or Walker. What we cant have is a long fight between Cruz and Walker, where Bush cleans up (even possibly with just a plurality).
You’re absolutely correct. Many here should take heed to that.
>>The establishment candidate will almost certainly be Jeb Bush or Chris Christie. <<
And once more, the establishment will lose; maybe by such a margin as to destroy them.
Playing nice by the uniparty’s rules and “respecting the results” is for fools and suckers. The negotiation position of conservatives should be very simple: our conservative or the gop faction’s demise.
As for unity, I’m already united behind Cruz. Walker is a fine fellow I’m sure but the only people he seems to inspire are journalists and accountants. He’s also likely the uniparty fall back position.
“As for unity, Im already united behind Cruz.”
I also like Walker but the fire in the belly that I hear from Cruz really gets me going. I have already volunteered and sent the man my first installment on the funds he’ll need and hope to be able to send more this month.
Lets all get behind Ted and make this happen this time out.
Stay out of the Bushes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cruz or lose.
Romney was awarded states and delegates he did not win, when the resulting complaints came in they responded by changing the rules and thumbing their noses at us.
Basically stating “WE know who your candidate should be better than YOU!”
It worked so well, as all can see.
