I remember when Ronald Reagan read and enjoyed “Hunt For Red October” and asked Clancy to have lunch. Reagan asked him how he knew so much “secret stuff”.
I can’t remember what Clancy told him.
Clancy had a lot of good sources and I’m sure he had heard some bad things about what was going on in DC.

Seriously, how did we get to this point in our country, where we have a traitor and continuing America-hater negotiating with our arch enemy, the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, Iran, to allow then to build a nuclear bomb? WTF is going on?
I figure I only have 10 to 15 years left on this earth, but I think that is still too long to avoid the time when the shit will really hit the fan in this country and the world in general. Still young enough to care but too old to do anything about it.
to my knowledge he had been given access to information to write his (final)book and somebody wasn’t happy about him & his access-even from prior books.
