Ted Cruz doesn’t have a prayer: Why the Texas senator will never sniff the White House
Salon ^ | March 28, 2015 | Matthew Rozsa, Ph.D. candidate, Lehigh University

Posted on 03/28/2015 11:18:47 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Despite what he wants you to think, Ted Cruz is not the great anti-politician of our time. In fact, he may be our most potent symbol of everything that is wrong with modern politics.

This would be hard to believe if you’ve been listening to him, of course. He desperately wants to be thought of as the one principled man in Washington—at least if your values hew closely to those of the Tea Party—but that posturing has alienated much of the party establishment. Ted Cruz attributes that development to them being “squishes,” while the rest of the world suspects it’s because Cruz is the kind of guy who goes around calling his co-workers names like “squishes.”

Of course, being a showboat is forgivable in American politics; if it wasn’t, Bill Clinton wouldn’t still be as popular as he is today. The bigger problem with Cruz is that the thematic basis for his showboating—that he won’t sell out like the rest of the Washington phonies—is a whole lot of bunk, like the rest of his campaign. After all, Googling ”Ted Cruz lies” pulls back an astonishing 7,890,000 results, and on Twitter, the two phrases are basically synonymous....

Cruz is making liberal heads explode and conservative breasts begin to swell again with hope.

Hello world: the devil isn’t the only entity with power to transform America.

Maybe. But it would be a worthwhile sacrifice.

Ted has forced them out of ignore mode since he declared, so their mock mode is racking the MenSeekingMen thousands of column inches they will have to eat as they move to Fight mode. They will have completely discredited themselves.

does he look to be at least 40 years old?
Typical professional student - likely unable to do simple tasks like building a fire, sharpening a knife, baiting a hook, acting like a man, etc.

Great talk last night by Sen Cruz at Young America’s Foundation meeting in Nashua. He reviewed how in the TX senate election vs. Dewhurst he was outspent 5 or 6 to 1, how the establishment was against him, how all the incumbent TX GOP were against him, and he still won.

Lehigh University earned it’s reputation as an engineering school.
I’m guessing this doofus isn’t in an engineering program.

The writer's comments show that he really does not understand the actual issues that Cruz has raised, nor how essential they are to a preservation of the Constitutional Federal Union, that the Founders provided.

Cruz is not playing games, when he tries to shame others who claimed to be Conservative, into actually standing up for what they have sworn by their oaths of Office, to serve & preserve.

Cruz is actually more clearly on the right tack, for fighting what is destroying our heritage, than almost anyone else in Washington. See How To Respond To Anti-American Lies In An Election.

Of course, George Bush lies gets you 45,700,000 responses, and Jesus Christ lies is right about even with Obama with 37,100,000.

Well when I was young and liberal and an undergraduate in a baccalaureate program I predicted in a political science essay that Jimmuh would win 3 states which in fact he did. I no longer view that as a Good Thing except relatively (it set the stage for Ronald Reagan).

Anyhow, as someone said, Cruz has not yet even begun to fight. An upset here will be of divine engineering. And the people really ought not to come to God with the attitude “we deserve this.” We don’t deserve it. We deserve to slide down in the sin we chose. But if we yet call on the name of the Lord, we may be saved politically as well as our souls being saved eternally.

The more headlines of this type I read, the more I think he just might have a chance.

Shame, or remonstrate (I think it is more the latter, he knows he cannot make absolute enemies)

God bless America, do not allow evil to over take America.

Too late for the government, that happened on Usurpation Day.
With full cooperation of both parties. The same evil that has captured the Democrat party has infested much of the GOP.

I’m praying hard that there are enough patriots left to save this country.

Ted Cruz scares them because he could be the one to bring them out of the woodwork on election day.

It will force the devil’s liberals to put all their cards on the table in desperation.

But the Ace from the Hole (I use this as metaphor for Jesus Christ who overcame death for all who will accept the victory) will win.

“Whenever I read a lib rag article like this, I like to send Ted a little donation at www.TedCruz.org”

“If we all sent in $5 for every article like this, we’d all be broke before Monday.”

If we all sent in $5.00 for every anti-Ted Cruz article we saw, he’d soon have a war chest bigger than Jeb Bush & Hillary combined!

Generally, an articulate man of principal will get far more votes per dollar spent--that is, if the dollars are spent in a way that emphasizes principled stands--than the "politics-as-usual" chap, who strives to minimize controversy.

There are a number of examples that come to mind. For instance, do you remember Robert A. Taft's landslide victory in 1950, when the Left went all out to purge him, as contrasted with his very narrow victories in 1938 & 1944? I mention that, because they used tactics similar to those already being aimed a Cruz, to marginalize Taft, and what they accomplished for a very decent principled man, who was really not charismatic, was to make him seem charismatic, because he stood fast for what he believed to be right.

Ted Cruz, of course, is somewhat charismatic--and also has a bit of "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" in him.

Of course, in my opinion, it is too early to be endorsing anyone; but this is going to get very interesting.

Even if you have $0 you can always send a prayer. God’s kind of funny that way. He can always come up with the cattle of a thousand hills, that is easy. But your heart? That ain’t so easy.
