I am also confused, I will honestly admit it.

The shi’ites are the enemies of ISIS, in Iraq it is the shi’ites who are doing the heavy lifting (well these things are relative) against ISIS, meanwhile ISIS is backed by the Saudis and the Gulf States, who are now attacking the shi’ites in Yemen.

So now we support the sunnis (ISIS) do we? Have we always been at war with East Asia? It seems to be only last week that Oceania was the enemy.

I am confused.

The Sunni Empire Strikes Back. As I commented before there is no way the Saudis will tolerate an Iranian satellite on its border. The Saudis sent in the tanks to crush the Shia demonstrations in Bahrain during the Arab Spring.

Yep. Sunni vs Shiite, and our President is Shiite.

We’re in this whether we like it or not.

I’m with you Mick, with a few notable exceptions the Sunnis weren’t doing squat about ISIS leading up to this war.

I would go further and say they, especially the Gulf states, were actively backing and financing ISIS. I think the West is taking the wrong side in this Islamic civil war.

It was the Saudi sunnis who attacked the US in 9/11, it was the sunnis who led the insurgency against the US in Iraq, Iran, on the other hand, hasn’t been a threat to the West in a quarter of a century or more.

I agree with Kissinger’s belief that it’s a pity they both can’t lose but the idea that the theocratic medieval backward sand kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the friend of the West beggars belief in my book.

The Theodore Roosevelt Attack Group will be transiting the Suez Canal next week and then right through the Strait on their way to the Persian Gulf..
Could get interesting......

I seriously hope the US doesn’t take sides in this Islamic civil war, let the Persians and the Arabs slug it out, we should just sit back and eat popcorn.

When it’s over we get on with buying oil from whoever wins, it’s time for the West to stop intervening in that god forsaken land.

How is it organized? Time or spatial slots for the air strikes from the various countries?

Why? It is awesome that we aren’t involved in their mess. let them fight it out. They all pretty much suck. I suspect our policy has been to keep them at each other’s throats. We are playing both sides. and it’s not all about Obama. There are those in the various intel, covert and military orgs that do know what they are doing.
