For five years, soldiers have been forced to stay silent about the disappearance and search for Bergdahl. Now we can talk about what really happened. It was June 30, 2009, and I was in the city of Sharana, the capitol of Paktika province in Afghanistan.

Hmmm. What is Obama going to do. This is not good for the Obama [pbuh]. I assume the Obamamedia is finding every picture, story, and video of Obama with the Berghdals and their little Islamic chant.

OR... The Obamatons are putting the clamps on the entire JAG corps[e] that Berghdal will NOT be convicted but exhonerated.

I just heard Judge Andrew comment that Berghdal (sp?) might not be tried & convicted until after Obama leaves Office. To me, that is a sign of relief, ‘cuz, after considering who Obama is & what he’s done in the past, he would probably give Berghdal a complete Pardon & set him free if he was still POTUS.

I’ve been pondering, that if this were tried in a civilian court, instead of a UCMJ procedure, some smart conservative lawyer could make some real political hay out of it.

Four days before the Rose Garden presser, Bob Bergdahl made this post on twitter.

Obama planned to have Bergdahl walk off.
He needed to get terrorists out of Gitmo.
Obama then made it look like a trade.

If the charges are true, if he deserted, Bergdahl should be shot.

The lives of those who died searching for him demand it.

Kudos to the Army for having the guts to do the right thing. Obviously, there was enormous pressure on the service to let Bergdahl off the hook, and slither out the door.

You can expect a wave of firings and dismissals over this one, beginning with the officers who conducted the investigation and the generals who approved their findings.
And you can bet there are a number of careerist JAGs and military judges who will do everything in their power to avoid this case.

In a normal world, trying Bergdahl for desertion would have been a slam dunk; hell, in a sane world there would have never been a deal and when the deserter got tired of his Muslim “brothers” in a few years, he would have been met with handcuffs when he returned home—if he made it back alive.

However, if you examine the handling of deserters from the Korean War, you’ll find that few served more than a couple of years in the brig. Robert Garwood, the Marine turncoat from Vietnam received a BCD, but no confinement. I can see Bergdahl getting a similar slap on the wrist.

Soldiers desert for many reasons, often because of fear or a desire to go home. He didn’t just desert. He collaborated with the enemy. Why isn’t he being tried as a traitor too?
