This is simply pathetic. Watch the video at CNN its clear what theyre trying to do:
"The newly announced Republican presidential candidate told CNNs Dana Bash on Tuesday that he will sign up for health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act a law he has been on a crusade to kill.
"Its a deeply ironic development for the Texas conservative firebrand, who vaulted to fame during his few years in the Senate in large part by denouncing President Barack Obamas landmark health care law. He led an effort to defund the law that contributed to the 2013 government shutdown."
Deeply ironic? Please explain how, dear liberal hacks at CNN. He explains that he believes in obeying the law even when he disagrees with it. Thats not ironic, thats a man living by his beliefs.

I saw that, that wasn't a very good explanation as he could still comply by just paying the 2% fine/tax/whatever, and still avoid the ‘Death Panels’ that Sarah warns us against.
There are better ways he could have handled the got-ya question.
What part of “mandatory” don’t the assholes at CNN understand?
he wants to dismantle the IRS... do they find it ironic that he pays taxes?
Ironic is CNN pretending to be a news organization...their propaganda is relentless
Maybe rather than paying a fine he wants his family to actually have health care?
I don't know what is in his mind, but my opinion is, that he is signing up, to show everyone how much a POS this Obamacare really is.
Correction :”Maybe rather than paying a fine he wants his family to actually have health- Obama-care?”
But then he exposes them to the Death Panels.
I think Cruz now has “Standing” in terms of criticizing Obamacare. By getting into the same boat that the Dems have forced millions of Americans into, he can highlight the hypocrisy of our ruling class (legislators) that have exempted themselves from this debacle.
I think it is a brilliant “populist” strategy. This man is playing chess...
Cruz signing up for zerocare shows that he wants to show that he’s with “The People” not above them. He’s willing to go through hell and high water along with us. He’ll understand what we’re going through.
I mean, maybe with a wife who works at Goldman Sachs he doesn't need health insurance but I can't blame a guy who does need health insurance for signing up for his employer provided coverage even if it sucks. If my employer ended their program (which I think is inevitable) I'd probably be forced onto Obamacare too. And I wouldn't like it. But I couldn't afford to risk not having health insurance.
This is true for many people already. In fact Cruz could mention that like millions of Americans, thanks to Obamacare he has lost his health care insurance choice and is stuck in a one-size-fits-all policy that stinks. That's better than the "I'll follow the letter of the law" line he used.
I came to the same conclusion.
Yours is the best postulation. Cruz is smart and wise; he will use this to his advantage.
Hey, Dana, it’s the Law for Pete’s sake! Where to they get these dimwits?
It’s called “keeping your powder dry”.
I can assume Hillary doesn’t have Obamacare.
Guess who will look like the idiot trying to defend a product they don’t have, against attacks from an opponent who DOES have it and along with millions of other Americans, hates it?
How will anyone be able to make the argument, “Oh sure. Ted Cruz isn’t afraid of gettting rid of Obamacare. It won’t affect that rich jerk if it goes away.”???
It will be the exact opposite. He can say, “The only reason these rich liberals think Obamacare is so great is because they don’t have to use it.”
Yes, it is very hypocritical to obey a law that you despise and wish to repeal.
CNN: He’s not a hypocrite. He wants to “feel our pain.”
And, he’s embarrassed to be EXEMPT.
I wonder if he thinks if he didn’t he’s in violation of the law for not signing up?
Although I’m sure he already had insurance, so he didn’t have to sign up then?
Makes no sense to me.
I would hope that woman having a child don’t decide to have an abortion since it is the law. We are trying to get rid of things like abortion and Obamacare not start using it.
Signing up may cost less than 2% for him.
