Isn't kidnapping for ransom still fairly common in South America? And in Mexico.

No, the story says she doesn’t live with her boyfriend, she was just “hanging out at his place” when “someone” dropped by and decided to kidnap her. Her two male roommates were pack at her place and don’t really figure into the story.

The police say he isn't a person of interest. Means nothing.

I don’t know, this guy. They’d have him confessing in a few hours.

Let’s see... Vallejo, California. The first city in the great state to declare a chapter 11. Hecky durn, the detectives on this case, will be the best. No doubt. The waterfront, will provide nothing- other than a good excuse to spend misspent funds. Look for this person to be found in the east bay, or Richmond. Maybe N. Sac.

Lets see... Vallejo, CaliforniaI was just there a few days ago. I had my VA physical at Mare Island. I would assume by Mare Island housing, they are referring to the former Navy housing on the east side of the Mare Island bridge, near Sea Food City on Redwood.

Okay. Well, I was last at/on Mare Island in 1973. Just to pick up orders and pay.

I was forced to live in Vallejo for a couple of years; and believe me, the place is the tail end of Hades.

The last time I heard of a kidnapping for ransom was the Patty Hearst kidnapping. That was dramatic. But it isn’t that common in the U.S.
To: Jonty30
Well, you can go with that if you want.
But, I’ll tell you again .. the very fact he waited 11 hours to report her “kidnapped” is a sure sign that he did away with her. And, he had plenty of time to get rid of any evidence of his involvement.
So, I’m sticking with the assessment; and I guess we’ll see if I’m right or not.

What became of the officers housing half way between the lift bridge and the submarine pen? Also, some residential structures were scattered along the roadway leading to the old coast-guard facility at the southern point, south of the schools command area.
Is Roosevelt Terrace still standing? Haven’t been in the area since the ‘89 earthquake.

I don't know the answer to any of those questions. I was at Travis AFB, and all I knew, was there were Naval repair facilities at Mare Island. I never knew much about it, but even after it closed, I still took my VA disability physical there in 2009. That was the last time I went to Mare Island, though I went to the stores near it more often. As far as I know, all the housing is now civilian housing.
Now, I am not positive, but from what I heard, when Mather closed, all the military housing was to be used for homeless people, but the powers that be, determined that the military housing was not up to homeless standards. It was good enough for Air Force people, but not good enough for the homeless. That kind of grates on my nerves.

It is much more common than you think. Phoenix is the kidnap capitol of America.
