(Reuters) - Whether it's the earnest Josiah Bartlet from "The West Wing" or the manipulative Frank Underwood in "House of Cards," Americans prefer television presidents to their real-life POTUS, President Barack "No Drama" Obama.

A Reuters-Ipsos poll taken this month found 54 percent of Americans held an unfavorable opinion of Obama, known for his cool and cautious presidential style, while 46 percent were favorable.

In contrast, asked to imagine that David Palmer of "24" was president, 89 percent of those who had seen the real-time Fox counterterrorism drama said they held a favorable rating of the decisive president played by Dennis Haysbert.

Hell, I would prefer the fictional president in “MARS ATTACKS” (played by Jack Nicholson) to the jerk that sullies the WH at this point.

There is not a person in US history less suited for the office Obama usurped than the current occupant.

Fictional presidents never implement any policies that are against your interests - they’re fictional!

When Obama first announced he was running for president the series 24 was running.
I was checking out at a local supermarket and a woman looking at magazine covers proclaimed that she thought Obama would be a good president such as David Palmer.
The clerk and I looked at each other and shrugged. Little did we know at the time how awful the real president would be.

I'd take Mickey Mouse over the damned fool we have now.

With Donald Duck as VP.
