In an election, where the state does not require a picture I
D, an electric bill is one form of acceptable ID. In that case, it normally takes two forms of ID (if not picture ID) to be presented and the electric bill is one of those. Texas was that way until the legislature passed a law requiring picture ID. Now only picture ID qualifies a person to vote (if the name is on the voter list for that precinct).
No one could “register to vote” with just an electric bill as ID. Again, in Texas and likely some other states, no one is registered to vote unless the name is sent to the Secretary of State, Elections Division, to have the name checked for being a citizen. If deemed not a citizen, the name doesn’t go on the county voter list.
He agreed to “temporary’ legalization, while fighting to totally eliminate a path to citizenship.
Why are you concern trolling against someone that you claim is the best man on immigration?
Because he should be better—or someone else with a good record on the issue should enter the race.
We shouldn’t just roll over on the issue because the GOPe and big donors screen candidates on it.
And Cruz has also come out not just for temporary, but for permanent legal status. (But again, no matter, they’d be voting right off and citizens before too long either way.)
