CNN/ORC Poll: Hillary Clinton Maintains Double-Digit Lead Over All Republican Hopefuls Surveyed

Email-gate may have dominated the headlines over the past few weeks, but evidently the scandal hasn’t trickled down to the grassroots level—at least not yet. And perhaps it never will. To wit, a newish CNN/ORC poll, which conducted head-to-head hypothetical matchups between Hillary Clinton and all the leading presumptive Republican hopefuls, is anything but positive news for the GOP. Though Jeb Bush (16 percent) leads the pack of Republicans, no candidate even comes close to defeating Hillary Clinton one-on-one (via Bill Kristol):

…none of the top candidates in this field gets within 10 points of Hillary Clinton in a series of hypothetical general election matchups.

Rand Paul comes closest, with 43% saying they'd be more likely to back him while 54% choose Clinton. The two candidates who currently top the GOP field, Bush and Walker, match up equally against Clinton, with each carrying 40% to her 55%. Huckabee gets 41% to Clinton's 55% and Carson has 40% to Clinton's 56%.

Yes, and Netanyahu was trailing and the race was neck and neck at best.

Read the poll. It's a CNN poll. Besides that, the comments about the poll are VERY cynical about hillary's actual popularity and the validity of the poll.

I find it encouraging that Rand Paul, the only name who would be known to those answering a CNN poll, did quite well.

Many of the polls are much the same... Way to early to put much more
than name recognition into the results. IMO.

Here’s a listing of several polls conducted over the last few months.

... we need to reevaluate how we choose our leadership here in America and who we allow to do the choosing."

A good start would be raising the voting age back to 21.
Personally, I think it should raised to 25 but I know that will never happen.

Stick another Dem candidate in there....like O'Malley...and see what happens.

The polls for her were the same the last time she ran. Remember...she was a shoe in.

She just hasn't learned her lesson yet.

Her best bet would be to faint in public...like a little mini stroke.

The question that should have been asked is whether you’d prefer Hillary or whichever republican is the chosen nominee.

The big difference is clear. Clinton is pretty much alone with little competition. The GOP field is fragmented and of course it is hard to get people who support x candidate to say they would vote for another candidate who they might actually vote for if the candidate won the primary. Polls are meaningless at this point.

A Cruz vs Hitlery debate would flip those numbers... That is for those with a 100+ IQ.

Yep.

A caller to a talk show last week had an intriguing idea.

Forbid the listing of party affiliation on the ballot.

Forbid designating the incumbent with an (i).

Wasn’t this poll, like others by CNN/ORC, taken among adults, NOT registered voters or likely voters?? If so then it’s absolutely meaningless........

You said...
“At this point, the poll is only measuring whose name is more recognized. I would bet a majority of those polled couldn’t name a single senator if you asked them.”

Yup.

If her name was Hillary Anderson, the poll would be closer

You don’t have to be a liberal to question events that are almost too convenient. Also, read the detailed reports about Vince Foster’s suicide and see if you can figure out the inconsistencies in that report.
