Is that the coffee where the beans are force fed to some kind of cat and the scatted out beans are washed and sold as some kind of extreme coffee delicacy?

My question is, just how in the hell was this found out? Some guy had his beans eaten by a cat and then the wife sifted through the scat and thought to herself “ I ain’t payin no more for no coffee - I’ll just wash this crap off and feed it to him. He said it was good afterwards, didn’t he?”

I liked Dennis Miller’s comment that when he went to his local Starbucks and ordered black coffee the barista told him: “That’s racist — we don’t serve it any longer.”

Starbucks admits that the initiative was birthed out of a company forum in which employees discussed racial tensions across America due to “police killing unarmed black men in Ferguson.”

So there you have it, folks. The “Race Together” initiative is rooted in the lie that white police kill blacks at will. Thus, before any “discussion” begins, whites are the bad guys. Ferguson police are not killing unarmed black men. A Ferguson police officer shot a black criminal in self-defense.

Most insightful comments written about Starbucks to date... a must read...

I don’t drink Starbucks because I just don’t like the taste. But if you put in all types of other flavors and sweeteners I guess one could like it because the taste of Starbucks without any additives.

It all depends on how one likes their coffee. I have always enjoyed the taste of Starbucks' stronger brews. I just happen to like strong, dark roast coffee. People who complain about Starbucks flavor probably prefer a different type of coffee. However, I seldom go to a Starbucks store, and simply buy coffee beans or ground coffee at the supermarket. After all this "race together" BS, I doubt I will buy any more Starbucks. This leaves a different sort of bad taste in my mouth.

“Also, some other threads discussed how there are no Starbucks in majority black towns across the country.”

Coincidentally, they have some of the lowest robbery rates in the country

Never been to a Starbucks for close to a year now which is a miracle in L.A. And the only reason why I did it was due to a business appointment inside their premises and didn’t want to look sappy without drinking something.

When in Chicago I will get out of the car at exit toll booths as the cars back up behind me in order to pick up and properly deposit the coins I “accidentally” dropped short of the coin hopper. The goal is to make the system as annoying as possible for as many people as possible.

Wow. Way to "fight the power". /sarc

Never been in a Starbucks, but I might go just so I can tell them gays or wrong, they must know the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved, repent of your sins and become a Christian.

That should shut them up, but hopefully someone will listen to me.

Barista: Good morning sir, and welcome to Starbux! No need to worry about tipping today, since we both know it is merely a micro-aggressive expression of your white privilege, intended to embarrass minorities who might not be able to afford such an extravagant gesture.

Me: Cool, no tip! I'll just have a plain small coffee.

Barista: We can't say "plain", because I know you really mean "black"; you are subtly inferring that black people are plain. Oh, and you can't say black either.

Me: Just give me a strong, black coffee!!

Barista: Subliminal slave reference, you don't fool me!

I really don’t know.. I can’t really say. All I know is that I’ve had their raw, basic ingredient - coffee, and it is bitter and doesn’t taste good to me.

My impression is that they’ve sold a style and a mystique that actually has nothing to do with the product, but rather the process of acquiring it in their routine. I’ve seen these asshats carry that crap around like it is liquid gold or something similar.

I really don’t understand it other than to think the management is confident enough in their training of the airheads to be reasonably comfortable in their position to now start lecturing based on some political bent.

Next time you go to the airport and get your ticket from the airline, do you want to be mused on the subtleties of race before you get your ticket? Maybe while some third world TSA goon is eying you like Osama Bin Laden? Why then at Starbucks?

As opposed to the countless murders, rapes, robberies and assaults of whites at the hands of blacks throughout the years.

I'm glad Starbucks is doing this. They're right. We do need to have an honest dialogue on race relation in America --as opposed to the one-sided conversation that requires whites to ignore the many elephants in the room regarding black crime, black out-of-wedlock birth rates, the feral behavior of young black men and women in the classrooms, on the streets, at McDonalds, etc.

Yes, Starbucks, ask me about race. Please.

Odd... I wonder if there's a connection between have LOW robbery rates - and NOT having stores in all Black neighborhoods? Or is that too racist to even think about?

I’d bet is you plot the home location for all of the baristas, they are likely in the parts of town with the most whites.

I did a test on Google Maps, using Ferguson, MO. It looks like the nearest Starbucks locations are outside that town's boundaries. The closest ones have review comments such as "Closes ridiculously early" (around sundown).

No surprises there.

Maybe in Sumatra, it was easier to pick up civet poop beans than climb up and pick just the ripe beans.

Massa won’t know the difference?

“And I”m too cheap to spend $7.00 for a cup of coffee, when that will buy a 30oz can of “Army Blend” at the commissary.”

That makes you smart, not cheap.

I have to agree with you about Starbucks. Even their Light Roast taste burnt. I only visit Starbucks if it is the only place I can find.

And I am really tired of all of the pretentious “Fair Trade” crap that has been built up around coffee in general.

I won’t buy coffee that labels itself Fair Trade. It is against my principles to buy anything associated with a cartel which is what I consider the Fair Trade organization.

Empire, which can’t last only on black viewers, brought up Black Lives Matter. Patti Labelle brought them up in the story line about donating money to them.

Turned me off.
