According to lobbyists and congressional aides, bargainers have discussed including money for the Children’s Health Insurance Program for two more years, costing around $5 billion. Its money is due to expire Oct. 1. […]

The overall agreement—eliminating the Medicare reimbursement formula, slightly boosting those payments and adding money for children’s health—would cost roughly $200 billion over 10 years, aides and lobbyists say. …

Hmmmmmm. Is the not-very-free press deliberately comparing the two sums over different time periods to make the children's program appear much smaller than it actually is?

("It's just a little more money! And it's for the children!")

Do these twits have anything in their bags beside “for the children” and “that’s racist”? Although I must admit, the gop always backs down when threatened with those.

Yes, yes they are.
Media expects 5% of this money will end up in their pockets advertising costs of consumer spending). So they want the government to spend the money.
They also don’t want the conservatives to be able to attach a cost-cutting amendment to a CHIP bill later.

Harry Reid watches out for the media’s profits and the media watches out for him.

They are still pushing for a 100% single-payer system and Medicare has to be destroyed along with the next target of Medicaid. If OBamaCare persists, we are up the proverbial creek.

It’s not just Media, but big Pharma. Followed by your doctor. Have you noticed the increase in adds for drugs seniors are stuck on the most? Did any one stop to think that the next MANDATORY shot you take could have a chip in it?

My ENDO and PCP are pushing their POISON Osteoporosis drugs, all have high FDA Warnings and Forteo has a Black Box warning for bone cancer. It is a 2 year RESTRICTED by the FDA program. Tons of side effects and made with E-COLI modified strain. Neither doctor has bothered to tell me those facts. Just scare stories if I don’t take one of them. BTW Foreto reverses the gains after 2 years and you have to stop taking it; RETAIL cost per month is $2K per epi pen that covers 28 days.

ENDO was real curt when I refused his every 6 month Prolia which means he’d get paid twice a year for it. Beyond my thyroid treatment. Which is cheap. http://www.drugs.com/sfx/prolia-side-effects.html Prolia will cost about $1,650 per year plus the cost associated with an office visit.

Safety update for osteoporosis drugs, bisphosphonates, and atypical femur fractures, A FIB, Jaw Degeneration, Kidney failure deaths.

Teriparatide (rDNA origin) is manufactured using a strain of Escherichia coli (E COLI) modified by recombinant DNA technology.

The IV Reclast once a year, is the worst of the lot as it NEVER leaves your body.

Reclast Not to be given to Asthma patients. Plus all the other FDA warnings.

Well after 2 bad reactions to 2 different doses of Fosamax, the cheapest of the drugs, has a generic. It will be a subarctic day in Hades before they get me on another one.
