Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

The last 4 times, really. W. meant no amnesty the same way McCain does.
I agree. Even if someone really believes that we couldn’t deport them (and I don’t see why we couldn’t deport a good many of them), we could at least stop rewarding them and attracting them by giving them rights and benefits only due to legal citizens. It makes no sense that people who broke the law to be here, and had no care or concern about the diseases and crime they are bringing in with them, should receive the same or better incentives and rewards that legal citizens receive, who are law-abiding and taxpaying.

Condescension is not a plan, especially to win support.
Where are the shadows in which the illegals are living? I want to be in those shadows. Illegals are having massive demonstrations all the time. Illegals get face to face time with the POSOTUS and invited to the state of the union. Illegals get welfare, free education, free medical care, free housing. They have racial superiority groups agitating on their behalf.
One thing I gotta say about Jeb. At least we know he won’t flip-flop on amnesty. He’s 100% for it and isn’t hiding it.
