The schools here refuse to celebrate Columbus Day because of all the PC hype of what allegedly happened - man crosses into the unknown with three leaky boats, somewhat akin to blasting off into space at random with only a ham sandwich, all to rape and pillage. Give me a break. Though they refuse to dismiss school for Columbus Day, they always take the following Friday off as an administration day probably because the teacher’s union won’t give up a paid holiday, even on principal. Activism has its limits.

We'll see how the Parade is received in SB next week. Their schools were destroyed by the forced federal school busing in the '70s. But there's been a lot of changes with upscale housing etc. since then.
