President Obama remains committed to “common-sense” gun regulations, even though his administration backed off a proposal to ban a popular type of armor-piercing ammunition.

“The president’s commitment to putting in place common-sense rules that will protect Second Amendment rights, but also prevent those who shouldn’t have firearms from getting them, is as strong as ever,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Wednesday.

"... but also prevent those who shouldn’t have firearms from getting them, is as strong as ever,”. Uh, translation, nobody should have guns in their private hands. Torpedo the constitution, full speed ahead.

Torpedo the constitution, full speed ahead.

The Constitution is taking on water. There's no stopping this administration.

You can bet your bottom dollar that once Americans are disarmed by force, Obama isn't going anywhere.

Keep saying it and you are making all those guns and ammo manufacturers have secure business.

Who said Americans will stand for being disarmed by force? I predict they will try to at least achieve parity as far as casualties go.

Pseudo-intellectual liberal cretins have a lot of nerve using the term “common sense”.

Yeah, right.

As time has gone on, I don’t know if I agree. I think a lot of this will be veiled by politically-correct speech. People will be guilted into giving up their weapons. At some point, neighbors and children will be asked to give up information on their friends and family.

If the states don’t start standing up for their citizens, they’re going to become irrelevant. That’s really my biggest fear at this point. We are relatively insulated from the Feds unless and until the states just roll over to their demands.

I love my governor, Scott, but he’s not shown me that he’s willing to fight “city hall,” if you will.

His commitment is as strong as ever. He’s just too incompetent to do any thing about it. That will be the epithet for hic career.

Translation: In Obama's eyes, the entire population are "those who shouldn't have firearms."

Checks and balance no longer exists, with few exceptions the judiciary and legislative branches of government have rubber stamped whatever obama wants. I don’t recall boehner and mcconnell saying they’d support obama’s lawlessness and tyranny if we gave them a majority.

All of this is underway already. Obama doesn’t have the military, so I don’t personally see anything happening by force. The armed “wannabes” at DHS and other alphabet agencies are not trained urban fighters, they’re desk jockeys for the most part, and they won’t last long against a pissed off and well armed citizenry.
So, the left will use what the left always uses: Informers and guilt and political correctness to achieve what cannot be done by force. It will take another generation or two, but they mean to make it happen. Some of the nonsense in Common Core is frightening, but they are indoctrinating our children and there doesn’t seem to be a way to stop it. The second amendment, and the Constitution itself are particularly targeted in that curriculum.

Congress has ALL the power in washington, the executive and judicial branch operate according to the whims of CONGRESS!

Congress can remove ALL of their employees
Congress can Abolish every agency they so choose
Congress can remove EVERY JUDGE IN AMERICA, including every supreme court justice.
Congress can abolish every federal court except the supreme Court
Congress can decide which cases the Judicial Branch can hear and decide
CONGRESS can Imprison ANYONE they want for any reason they so desire for as long as they wish.
Congress can declare WAR

No other governing body has even 10% of the power CONGRESS has!!

We’ve had soldiers die on foreign soil to protect our rights. I suppose if it came to gun confiscation, some of us will die on our doorsteps doing the same.

Naw, it’s absolutely true. You just have to use your Barack Obama Super Secret Decoder. What you do is print out the sentence and place the decoder on top. The decoder blocks out everything starting at “that will” up to and including the “but also”. Then you have to look up the phrase “those who shouldn’t have firearms” in your Special Alinsky Edition Progressive-Speak to English dictionary and find out that the English translation of that phrase is “everybody”. See, no lies here.

You probably feel as lucky as I do that the republicrats took over both houses in the last (s)elections. Face palm. If anything, things got a little worse but it looks like the demoncrats are still running the show.

***but also prevent those who shouldn’t have firearms from getting them,***

Already been done.

“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”—Lyndon B Johnson when he signed the 1968 gun control act into law.
