Can you get FNC?
Did you mean Fox News? Sorry about my previous post (#13.)
I don't know how to get current cable content without a cable subscription. ROKU has a Fox News channel with selected content, like some previous RedEye shows, but it is hit-and-miss.

I think a lot more people have evolved out of mindless entertainment ... the Dick Van Dyke, I Love Lucy, Alf etc ... type of programming (analyze THAT word!) and has become more cerebral Are you kidding? Those oldies are one of main reasons I got streaming Netflix. Dick Van Dyke, I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver, Andy Griffith, The Rockford Files... Now THAT's TV!!

Beaver was worth it because it was a Norman Rockwell sort of snap shot of what America wanted to be ... and kindred shows; Andy Griffeth, etc
Dragnet was one of the more interesting cop shows (naked City as well)
All In The Family was the breakout TV show that launched a lot of America into discussing things they never did before

YouTube/Hulu/bittorrent is my TV. Even hearing a TV with a real cable connection just feels weird on my ears. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I’ve been binge-watching Fantasy Island episodes on YouTube myself. It honesty is like putting on a warm pair of slippers compared to all of the bilge that is celebrated on TV now. I will even watch ads from the 70s and 80s because it helps wash the crud of today out of my head for at least a little while.

Archie was ahead of his time.

I noticed watching my five and a half (exactly tomorrow) year old daughter with her toys that she plays in episodes.
Yay - we just saved the world, now we can continue tomorrow.

The thing I noticed is that after dropping commercial laden Cable and watching only stuff I get from the internet is that if I do see a TV show or Sports event on regular TV now it annoys me to no end with the constant commercials.
I just can't watch something that breaks every 10 or so minutes to show me the same damn commercials they did 10 minutes ago. They only time I subject myself to such is on Sundays when NFL is on. We spend the day with Dad cuz he likes to watch football. My wife and I take our Kindle/Firephones and read on commercial breaks to try and stay sane with the loud ass commercials that blare away several decibels louder than the Game.

We killed our TV almost 6 years ago now. Best thing we ever did.

I will take Dick Van Dyke or I love Lucy over the garbage on TV now anyday.

Agree - I also look upon it as a way of de-funding Hollywood. If I can’t get it off the net for free, then I don’t watch it.

Roku + Plex + HD TV antenna. And kiss cable goodbye.

"Broadcast, to a large extent is going to die, but the broadcasters are not. Cable and online streaming will just become more competitive. Will "net neutrality" that Obama is ushering in kill inexpensive streaming? Will the government's intrusion regulate streaming, charge taxes, impose licenses(as they do with TV broadcasting), thus causing streaming to become just as convoluted and expensive as TV?

The death of television is one of the bright spots in an otherwise bleak national landscape.
I’ll join the chorus here and say that I quit letting them program me and my family many years ago. Don’t miss it one little bit.
