The head was bright white, and it had a deep orange tail with what looked like sparks falling behind,Describes exactly a fireball I saw one night while driving on a remote freeway,
Only detail out is that before the fireball came into view -- two bright green flashes lit up the terrain.

Never have I had that pleasure. And now, with my hearing also going, it’s becoming less likely.
I have seen a LOT of things in the sky at night (been an amateur astronomer for about 45 years now), including what I think was a aurora spark on magnetic line during the previous solar maximum, but, I haven’t been able to hear a meteor.

LOL
I love Deep Purple’s older stuff. I’ve never seen that Album cover before.
Who in the world thought that was a good idea?
