Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon and presidential hopeful, recently apologized for a statement in which he said being gay is "absolutely" a choice.
In an interview on CNN, the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate commented that "a lot of people who go into prison, go into prison straight, and when they come out they're gay, so did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."

Got any evidence of that? I've known many over the years, including coworkers and children of friends. Every one I've talked to about it says they were always attracted to men as far back as they can remember, and none talked about being molested.

Change he environment and change the person. There was a plane crash in the Peruvian mountains IIRC and the people ate human flesh. Circumstances and the environment drove them to make bad decisions. The survivors are normal people today and mostly successful. They’re no longer cannibals, but at one point they were.

Ellen DeGeneres says she was molested by her stepfather in her late teens but that it had no effect on her sexual orientation. Rosie O’Donnell says that she and her gay brother were molested as by a family member but she won’t say by whom.
Sexual abuse is one trauma that can result in same sex attraction, but it appears that confusion resulting from improper or non-existent bonding with a parent, and particularly a same sex parent, is another one. I highly recommend the work of Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, Ph.D. on these matters.
Bottom line, these dysfunctions seem to be deeply rooted in serious family dysfunction. A boy without a father or with a weak father may not be able to recognize his masculinity and stay over attached to his mother, becoming gender confused. A female molested by a man may consider any relationship with a man to be traumatic and so avoid those relationships. The list could go on. Liberals can’t admit this in their Luciferian/Adam and Eve pride because it would destroy their war upon the family for the purpose of re-defining the family.
Homosexuality is a behavior, not a trait.

They can contradict until they turn blue, but they’re still wrong. They also contradict the truth about Climate, they contradict God’s Word on nearly everything, they contradict many great true scientists from the past who originated the Scientific Method, whose sleeve garters they are unworthy to carry.

last time I read something like this several years ago, Later, it turned out that the so called “scientist” was as queer as a three dollar bill. He just made it all up. I suspect the same thing here.

Well, the pattern is well established that one argues that people are not responsible for their actions. People excused incest between an 18-year old and her biological father, people say that teens in general are programmed into sexual behavior, so don’t bother to try teaching them otherwise. It goes on and on. The whole blaming your behavior on something other than your own choices is common, and it’s rediculous.
Does genetics program homosexuals into promiscuity? Does it program them to use narcotics? It’s a bunch of dehumanizing BS that a lot of people somehow don’t think about how bad it sounds to say that you aren’t responsible or in charge of your life. Years ago, people despised slavery with a passion. Nowadays, people brag about being enslaved or having no responsibility for their own actions.
There’s no closet for skin color
It’s not relevant whether genetics is a significant factor in homosexuality or not. Say it is, so what? That’s not a reason to allow homosexual marriage or let them serve in the military.
Many mental illnesses are genetic.
okay, let’s accept the premise. people are born that way. then parents should be given the choice to abort potential gay children. freedom to choose, right to privacy? we really need to stick it to the left with these questions.
