The making of Scott Walker, statesman [here come the long knives]
Washington Post ^ | Philip Rucker and Robert Costa

Posted on 03/06/2015 10:50:14 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

On a recent Monday at Washington’s Willard InterContinental Hotel, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was schooled on the world by some of the GOP’s leading foreign-policy lights. In a two-hour tutorial, seated around a table in the Taft Room sipping sodas and coffee, they used detailed regional maps to lead the likely presidential candidate on a tour of the globe’s hot spots: Israel and the Middle East, Latin America, Russia and Ukraine.

The reason for Walker’s crash course was urgent: He has not impressed many leading Republicans with his grasp of foreign affairs. He drew mockery from members of both parties last month for refusing to talk about foreign policy on a trip to London and then for comparing his experience battling labor protesters to taking on Islamic State terrorists.

In contrast to the compelling and confident way Walker talks about his Wisconsin record, he has been shaky on foreign policy. He has traveled only rarely overseas and showed little interest in world politics in college or as governor. Policy experts and donors who have met with him privately said he lacks depth of knowledge about the international scene and speaks mostly in generalities. At a Club for Growth meeting last weekend, one major donor publicly portrayed Walker as “not prepared” to talk about global issues.....

Walker hired Michael J. Gallagher, 31, an former Marine captain and Senate Foreign Relations Committee staffer, as his foreign-policy aide. Gallagher has moved to Madison and began work this week.

Gallagher is little known outside of Capitol Hill. The Green Bay, Wis., native is still a PhD student at Georgetown University. “He just sent me some draft chapters for his thesis,” professor Andrew Bennett, Gallagher’s adviser, said this week......

Insanity - the guy has some gaps and decides to get assistance filling them by consulting with experts - yet and Obama can trash foreign policy/affairs due to actual ignorance and malfeasance, and refuses to take any expert advice, and that's OK with them.

Go Walker!

I am a Cruz supporter. I will avidly vote and campaign for Ted Cruz if he is on the ballot. However, having said that, I find Scott and Sarah also acceptable. The other candidates I have diminishing enthusiam for, ending with Jeb and Christie

You know, as well as I do, the Rush does NOT "Endorse" Candidates.
Walker has already SOLD OUT to the "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS".
So if he's our candidate in the General, I'll be voting AGAINST HIM.

Speaking of Occupiers. What about Walker putting out the Welcome Mat to tens of thousands of illegal invaders that now occupy neighborhoods throughout Wisconsin?

Since Walker refuses to penalize illegal invader-favoring employers' and landlords' bank-account-draining fines, it should come as no surprise as to why Walmart is packed full of illegal invaders at all hours of the day and night in towns and cities throughout Wisconsin.

Oh, wait, I just figured it out, since identity theft is a favored criminal act by illegal invaders, perchance Walker himself is an illegal invader in disguise?

The proof is in the pudding that you are eating when you sit down to eat with illegal invaders, Cincinatus' Wife.

BTW, REAL CONSERVATIVES in the North eat beer-battered cod, while REAL CONSERVATIVES in the South eat pork or beef Bar-B-Que. And I do miss my Friday night Fish Fries in Wisconsin something fierce!

Illegal invaders are easy.
You bury them; or else, they will bury you.

I can't handle pork or shellfish because they both come back up (too many years in a high-stress job).
I love beef Bar-B-Que, but I have to eat that in moderation due to the grease.

Cruz is for the legalization of those already here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/13/us/cruz-tries-to-claim-the-middle-ground-on-immigration.html?pagewanted=all

Snippet from the article:

What has not been as evident is what “he supports: legal status for millions of people here already, while making it easier for immigrants to come here through the front door”.

Sorry, I just saw you post #43.

Please ignore my post #70 to you.

It was meant for a more intellectual type.

So we are supposed to ignore Walker's RECORD on amnesty?

His record is better than Cruz. Walker did not allow sanctuary cities, opposed amnesty and more.

You have nothing except liberal lies to spread here.

Which tells me that you are not a conservative.

I quote Scott Walker and his PRO-AMNESTY position:

If you read his words, he never advocates for illegals to become citizens....which is amnesty.

YOU ARE A LIAR

Also, you ommitted the part of that interview where Walker clearly states, I do not support amnesty.

Which makes you a bigger LIAR.

I like Ted Cruz very much. But your tactics only help Jeb and Hillary.

You are revealed for the FRAUD you are!

Conservatives cannot be lumped together. We are individuals and embrace individualism and individual liberty.

You sound like a collectivist.

What about Walker putting out the Welcome Mat to tens of thousands of illegal invaders that now occupy neighborhoods throughout Wisconsin?

Since Walker blocked sanctuary cities, the above line is a LIE.

You must be a troll.

I am no troll. You just do not like me pointing out the very inconvenient truth about how Scott Walker lets all those job-stealing illegal invaders into Wisconsin. This Cheap Labor Express from way down south is given the red carpet treatment by my former governor. If he is truly against amnesty, he will crack down on these illegal invaders NOW!
