Rush Limbaugh, whos been a fixture on WLS AM 890 for more than 25 years, is about to get the bums rush from the Cumulus Media news/talk station, sources said Wednesday. If all goes as planned, Limbaughs syndicated talk show, which airs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, will be dropped by the end of March, according to insiders at WLS.
A Cumulus Media spokeswoman declined immediate comment. But a source familiar with the decision said it was based on the shows diminished ratings and failure to generate advertising revenue for the station, adding: Its impossible to sell.
The ongoing, sustained, Leftist war on his advertisers is taking its toll. That 60 Minutes hit piece on Lumber Liquidators did not occur in a vacuum.
RE my previous post 78 because of the reception report which I think is significant I should have marked it all
Gone are portable AM/FM radios from back when Rush got started to now all media on your phone. He is competing with Spotify Radio, Kick, Snapchat, Facebook, Tweets and he hasn't figured out how to reach 20 somethings, the age I found him as I needed AM radio for traffic reports and My Sharona for the millionth time on FM had me begging for a traffic report....
so far......I don’t see a “hmmmm” factor regarding Levin.
A similar situation took place on Houston radio several years ago. One station dropped Rush and he was on another before the ink dried on the contracts.
Wow, what an odd comment on so many levels. First, it's really sad that phony conservatives like yourself think that the only way to serve the Republic is by running for office. You have an inner liberal perhaps you don't even recognize, but with that sentiment, that liberal is in you somewhere. Period. Undeniable, so don't deny it.
Certain people are doing FAR MORE to help our cause than any office holders can possibly do. Rush is one of those. There are a few others too. How do you not recognize that? I do not understand how you can be conservative and think that way.
And seems you are a tad analytically challenged...Franken, a failed actor and talk host versus the most successful talk radio personality ever? Dang dude, that's very weak. It's just absurd actually.
And then there is this: you don't know a damned thing about where he puts his money - so for you to assume that your shallow understanding is comprehensive is startlingly arrogant, and misplaced.
I don’t think Steyn will sell every day. Think baseball....Steyn is a relief pitcher, not a starter. Both are important, but they are different.
He might just be the best one, but his schtick will wear thin on an everyday basis IMO.
But he’s awesome to listen to from time to time.
Hate to have to burst your Sugar Pops, but bd is right as rain. I too learned that the hard way. The world begins and ends with this Quarter.
Don't matter none. They still run Wolfman Jack and he's been dead for 20 years!
Yes, i’m sure the “higher ups” want to switch out Rush for someone who will make them LESS money.
Probably
It's surly a lot easier to prep for a pack of phone calls than it is to take apart what's going on around the world, and it seems as though Rush is more into spending his prep time with his wife. He's got his contract and he probably is pretty much free to do his show however he wants.
I dont get why he doesn’t write books anymore.
Outside of the ones for children, he has written a serious political book since “See, I told You So”, and that was like twenty-something years ago!
Who the heck listens to radio at all anymore? I have 17,440 songs on my computer. I just recently wired in an mp3 player on my motorcycle so I don't have to listen to commercials when I'm on a ride. I think I've got something like a hundred hours of tunes on it now. I think that's plenty for wherever I'm likely to go.
Your listening habits are 100% consistent with young liberal lo fo’s......hmmm....
Why should he?
