TED CRUZ: ‘WE SHOULD REPEAL EVERY WORD OF COMMON CORE’
Breitbart ^ | 28 Feb 2015 | MERRILL HOPE

Posted on 02/28/2015 6:12:07 PM PST by SoConPubbie

Senator Ted Cruz spoke out against Common Core during a speech to a Florida conservative organization. “We should repeal every word of Common Core,” he said. “We should get the federal government out of the business of curriculum.” This was not the first time Cruz said “no” to Common Core, but it was a great opportunity for the presidential hopeful to express his steadfast opposition to the progressive education reform movement standards. Cruz’ remarks came one day after his potential GOP presidential rival, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, endorsed Common Core.

Cruz described Common Core as “national standards being dictated from Washington” during an appearance at the influential anti-tax Club for Growth’s annual winter meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, February 27, ABC News reported.

“There is no remedy when they are dictating what’s being taught to your kids,” said the Senator. His comments stood in stark contrast to those from Bush, who told the same group that the education goals would help more students be prepared for college or better jobs, also according to ABC News.

Breitbart News reported that at the annual suburban Washington, DC-held Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Bush stood by his support for Common Core. He claimed that the standards were not a federal government takeover of education.

Cruz, on the other hand, has been consistently and emphatically opposed to the Common Core. He is also the lead cosponsor of the Enhancing Educational Opportunities for All Act, a measure introduced by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) that hopes to expand school choice, Breitbart News reported.

On February 21, Cruz appeared on Shark Tank where he spoke out against Big Education. He said “It is wrong and we need to stand up against Common Core and stop it.”

I think he should use this as a test. Seems very important to him. He should get a bill written convince his fellow Republicans to vote on it in the Senate. Send it to the House but talk to House Republicans to get behind his bill and have the President sign it. If the President vetoes the bill then ensure he has enough votes to over ride the vote. That is the perfect example of what he will have to do as President. I hope he does what he says. I think he can do it. Will he? I don’t know.

Here are the opening sentences of my “dream” Presidential candidate’s stump speech:

“My fellow Americans, when I am elected President of these United States, I pledge, in the first 100 days of my administration, to work with the Congress and repeal and overturn EVERY SINGLE LAW AND EXECUTIVE ORDER THAT PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS REGIME IMPOSED ON THE USA!”

“Furthermore, I pledge to FIRE EVERY SINGLE PERSON HIRED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SINCE FEBRUARY OF 2009!”

Absolutely, There will be no America if we don’t take back the minds (worldview) of our children. The Socialists/Progressives/Marxists have had control over too much curricula since 1930....with their foundation billions buying off the publishing companies and teaching colleges and taking over the universities—etc., to force their Wundtian/Fichte psychology onto our children which is designed to destroy Free Will, to make children so irrational they believe “snow is black” (1810) and Vice is Virtue in their Prussian system of indoctrination.

There is no Freedom possible without Virtue inculcated into young children. Classical Education is the only true educational system.....all others leads to puerile minds incapable of understanding Natural Law Theory and God’s Laws (theology)-—that which formed our Constitution.

Only one religion is banned from the public schools and it is Christianity. All the Atheist, pagan, occult, Satanic, muslim ethics are normalized and forced onto our children while Christian Ethics (the most Rational religion)-—that which formed the USA Justice System is being erased from the minds of children.

He who controls the allowed Words and Language controls the perceptions of the masses——that is how they are flipping Good and Evil (Political Correctness (”Hate Speech” which is unconstitutional) which is Cultural Marxism).

We need to repeal everything OBAMA has done too. That is the first thing I expect President Cruz to do and as soon as his hand lifts from the bible on swearing in. I want him the say “In keeping with my predecessor’s policy of Presidential Executuve Orders I hereby enact the following by Executive Order, all executive orders by my predecessor are immediately recinded, everyone is manditorily exempted from Obama Care, all illegals in this country will be placed on road gangs to repair the nations roadways, and finally the photos and name of my predecessor or will be removed from all records, so shall it be written - so shall it be done. And will someone please put a bag over Pelosi’s head, give Boehner and bucket to cry in, and McConnell another bottle of Kentucky bourbon.”

I don't understand why y'all don't get that Common Core is not a Federal Law. The Federal government has nothing to do with Common Core. From the myths vs facts on Common Core's website: Myth: The standards will be implemented through No Child Left Behind (NCLB), signifying that the federal government will be leading them. Fact: The Common Core is a state‐led effort that is not part of No Child Left Behind or any other federal initiative. The federal government played no role in the development of the Common Core. State adoption of the standards is in no way mandatory. States began the work to create clear, consistent standards before the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which provided funding for the Race to the Top grant program. It also began before the Elementary and Secondary Education Act blueprint was released, because this work is being driven by the needs of the states, not the federal government. Learn more about the development process here. http://www.corestandards.org/about-the-standards/myths-vs-facts/

Sounds like one of these weasely moves liberals, and others of a similar mind, like to do. Back something 100% politically, but when it comes to pen on paper, work something out with the weasely lawyers and so when everything goes to the dogs they can go full weasel and
say “It wasn’t us!”

Probably came straight out of Alinsky’s famous book, “Rules for Weasels.”

Ted Cruz is wrong.

Common Core is not a federal program. It is led by individual states and backed by the US Dept of Education.

Cruz wants to use the power of the Central Gov’t to stop the states from having their own educational standards.

That is unconstitutional.

Cruz should be calling for an abolition of the Department of Education. That is what REAL conservatives would do.

Cruz should know better. I am disappointed.

Common Core= Common Corps.

The Brainwashing of America and Revisionist History.

Common Core Part of the Left’s Demographic Warfare against the People involving Obamacare, Massive Illegal Immigration by executive fiat, and the vilification of Peace Officers and their institutions across America.

Welcome to Hussein Barakas transformation of The USA, and the conquest of America.

Perhaps Ted Cruz is laying the groundwork for a presadential campaign.

Already he has said abolish the IRS . Then so should he just

go about his day & voice another popular sentiment by

saying “Abolish the Dept of Education”?

I think he’s taking one bite at a time to build his

credibility with the American people.

If Ted Cruz would say “Abolish the IRS and The Dept of Ed

all in one sentence he just might come off as a bit of

wacko don’t you think.

Yes the Dept of Ed needs to abolished but I believe

he’s also considering his strategy. I wouldn’t put it past

him if he yearns to be POTUS because he is intelligent

enought to restore this country as it should be and he has

the moral fiber to do it

Common Core is not a federal program. It is led by individual states and backed by the US Dept of Education.

If the money comes from Washington D.C., which it does for this program, then it is not a states program, it is a Federal Program.

Ted's not wrong, you are.

Dear Senator Cruz,
Repealing Common Core is a great Idea. Maybe we should get
some Senator to introduce a bill to do just that.

Here you go:

Cruz said he will soon introduce legislation to would let individual states completely opt out of the federal health care law.

Governor Scott Walker was for Common Core before he was against it. Sounds like the perfect candiate for voters who don’t pay attention to his way of governing.
