Robin was ordered out of the vehicle. And standing between the police cruisers and his car, he was ordered to take off his shirt.
Go ahead, lift your shirt up, the officer commanded. When Robin began taking off the shirt from his waist, the officer barked, With the top of your collar!
And it wasnt until I had taken my shirt off and told to get on my knees and handcuffed and I said, Whats going on? Do you think this car is stolen or something? And he said, exactly right. And their car is going back to its rightful owner, Robin told KLAS.
After Robin was taken into custody, the troopers zeroed in on Beverly who was still in the passenger side of the vehicle. They commanded her to get out, but she was on crutches and struggled doing so.
As she went to reach for the crutches, a trooper is heard yelling, Keep we said keep your hands in the air and walk backward towards us!
Lucky they didn’t have a dog with them. It could have been fatal to the poor animal.
The important thing is that the officers got home safe.
Chilling.
You may think it won’t happen to you. Think again.
Treating elderly people like that is inexcusable.
Unfortunately cops who make mistakes are never held accountable.
Especially when the screw-up is their fault.
Soon, you won’t be able to read about stuff like this on the internet, the FCC won’t allow it.
It’s incidents like this that will one day explode into ‘unintended consequences’. One mistake cascading into another with ZERO commonsense being applied to the situation.
Ping.
Mistakes were made by the police but the couple will be generously compensated, as they deserve.
Shooting diabetics in insulin shock.
Shooting epileptics who can’t move because of seizures.
The judge should see the unfairness of charging the citizens of Nevada for such poor behavior. He should order compensation out of the policemen’s union funds.
If you train to treat every geezer as a threat
You'll treat every geezer as a threat.
And I ask, why aren’t the police required to carry personal liability insurance to cover their misconduct rather than the taxpayer footing the bill? I would assume that they are not “professionals” who routinely carry the insurance.
A dangerous mixture of arrogance and incompetence. Cops like this should be booted from the for the the safety of the general public.
I can see how they made the mistake.
Only a trained observer could tell the difference between the appearance of a 2011 Harley Davidson and a 1962 Chevy Impala.
(If ANYONE asks if that is sarcasm I swear I will cry)
A perfect illustration of groupthink and the absence of streetwise common sense on the part of law enforcement.
At no point in history has any government ever wanted its people to be ignorant for any good reason
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
I like that that target shows the “old geezer” holding an old fashioned hammered double barrel shotgun.
Fortunately, no police egos were bruised or otherwise harmed by this couple’s obvious unwillingness to display proper subservience.
Perhaps if they had groveled ...
Oh wow. Now, in the future, his wife should go around in a Burhka and he should dress like a Muslim. Problem solved. No more harrassment. Seriously, no joke.
