Jeb Bush’s CPAC Debacle Wasn’t Saved By Bussing In Supporters
redstate.com ^ | 2/28/15 | Steve Berman

Jeb Bush’s campaign is calling Dick Tuck to see if he’s behind the debacle he suffered at CPAC 2015.

Gateway Pundit confirmed that Jeb bussed in supporters so it wouldn’t look like everyone in the room hated him (or worse, left). But it didn’t matter, because they booed him anyway.

And they left.

And Slate got hold of the emails from Fritz Brogan telling his K-street astroturf crowd,

We strongly recommend arriving as early as possible to get a seat,” wrote Brogan in an email sent to undisclosed recipients. “Our ‘Early Rise’ team will be there at 7:30am onward helping reserve seats- if you want to join the early team, let me know.”

Brogan wrote that there were still available seats on buses leaving from K Street and Georgetown at noon on Friday to get to the event in time for Bush’s talk.

Sean Hannity should have gotten awkward pay for asking the questions in the Q&A. There was no speech. The Gaylord National Harbor is a nice place, and it would be hard to clean up rotten tomatoes and beer bottles that would surely be thrown were Bush to actually address the crowd.

Score negative ten for Team Jeb.

The Moderate Fox News did their best to resurrect Jeb from his performance at CPAC and his views on Common Core and immigration.

The bimbette filling in for Lou Dobbs last night covered CPAC. It was a "Look how wonderful Jeb is, see how much these conservatives love him" transparent lie. No mention of Senator Cruz or any other speakers.

“That so few conservatives walked out is disappointing.”

I disagree. Our founding fathers were trying to establish a free market for ideas and a society in which people respected the free speech rights of others. They engaged in spirited and passionate debate yet treated each other with respect. Respect implies a willingness to listen politely and consider what is being said. An unwillingness to listen, and consider, results in a polarized society in which ideas are imposed, not freely adopted by free men and women.

I have great respect for the founding fathers and their concepts of virtue and citizenship. I recall no instance when George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, James Madison, and John Adams walked out of the Philadelphia convention, refusing to hear a speech by another delegate. There were extreme disagreements at that convention but ultimately the delegates heard each other out and united to support the Declaration of Independence. A little more than a decade later our founders came together again, after intense and passionate debate, to draft and adopt the Constitution. While they strongly disagreed on many issues, they listened to each other with respect and courtesy. Those who had extreme positions ultimately compromised for the greater good.

The left does not respect the founders and does not desire a free market for ideas. Most leftists I know do not listen even though they claim to support free speech and free expression. However, if we wish to return to a society where there is civility in public discourse, and respect for each other, we conservatives need to behave in the manner we wish to be treated. A willingness to listen to points of view we disagree with makes a stronger statement about our character than walking out and refusing to listen.

How does one condemn the Democrats from boycotting Mr. Netanyahu’s speech and then cheer those who walked out on Jeb Bush? A citizen is not diminished by showing common courtesy to someone he/she disagrees with. Let the Democrats be known for boorish and disrespectful behavior. Conservatives should aspire to a higher standard.

I read she gave a great speech, asked bambi to put vets before illegals. Have not listened to it yet but will. CSPAN did a crap job of covering CPAC.

You may be right.

But.

When el Jefe bused in hundreds of interns, he was playing fair.

Respect is earned.

I walked out. No regrets. I didn’t come here to have anything to do with him.

Bussing in supporters? Sounds like something a Dem would do.

Republican Club members in our district receive e-mail notification in advance of governor Christie's townhall meetings near us. I assume that is intended to minimize space for potential RAT disruptors. The last several I attended I had my second amendment question ready to go, but did not get called upon.

The question: What part of "Shall not be infringed" does the State of New Jersey fail to understand?

The fact that any walked out is disappointing to me, and that has nothing to do with being rude or ill mannered. Now those that left are going to have to rely on second or third hand accounts of exactly what Bush said. If conservatives are going to oppose him, and I fervently hope we all do, we need to listen to him so we can form our own arguments against what he says. We’re headed into another “sound byte” war, with the debate controlled by those little snippets that the media chose to broadcast. Walking away can be construed as fear in some situations, looking someone in the eye and saying no leaves no doubt as to where you stand.

Jebbie’s “supporters” looked like they were on speed. Way too excited to be real. It looked so fake. He was as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof.

Like I suspected, the security leak that used to work for McCain now lives at the Jeb camp.
Not that I’m mad that Jeb got booed...I’m ecstatic about that.
Its just that one or more of McCain’s consultants is a infiltrator and has been feeding Reid and Pelosi GOP tactical info since at least 2004.

I was answering a question about Sarah Palin’s speech I did not hear. I voted for jeb twice for governor and I will NEVER vote for another bush again, never. Jeb turns my stomach, kind of the same way bambi does.

Fox News is on board The Cheap Labor Express.

They are definitely not on our side.

They have been pushing amnesty and amnesty candidates for years.

“Respect is earned.”

I agree respect is earned. Treating someone with civility does not necessarily imply respect for someone’s behavior. A man holding a door for a woman entering an establishment in public doesn’t know if she is a prostitute or a society dame. If she is a prostitute, he is not demonstrating respect for her lifestyle, he is merely extending courtesy to a fellow human being.

One of the problems with our society today is the elites and masses no longer demonstrate common courtesy in public discourse or behavior. We’ve lost virtue, common values and manners in our quest to be self indulgent. The loss of our spirituality has resulted in us ignoring the teachings of Christ, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

I have no respect for many of the actions and policies of Jeb Bush, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Karl Rove, and other self professed “conservatives”. However, if I met one of them on the street I would show him the courtesy of smiling and saying hello, whether or not the smile and greeting was returned. I desire a return to a civil society and to achieve this goal I must walk the talk.

nebbish (noun) a person, especially a man, who is regarded as pitifully ineffectual, timid, or submissive.

Jebbish, same as above, except when it comes to conservatives
