Liberals have been wailing over the past two decades on why poor whites vote for the Republican Party. In 2012, the New Yorker Magazine published an article on poor Republicans, that was full of all the crude stereotypes about poor whites. http://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/poor-white-and-republican
After all, the Democrats are offering free stuff to the poor, such as free health care, free welfare payments, free food stamps, and other free goodies. In the opinion of the Democrats, poor whites are voting against their economic interests by voting for the Republican Party. Liberals have coined the term "Trailer Park Republican" to describe poor whites who are Republican voters, and the term is featured in the online urban dictionary: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Trailer%20Park%20Republican
But the record of poor whites voting Republican goes back to the 1860 election, when Lincoln got more votes from poor whites than each of the other three candidates in the Presidential election.
The reason why poor whites vote Republican is very simple. They love God and they love America.
Here is a stereotypical quote on poor whites from the New Yorker aricle:
“...he lives on disability, is no longer fit for employment nor has any impulse to get a job, is divorced, fathers illegitimate children who grow up to do the same, gets hooked on meth or prescription drugs, does time in prison now and then, and has bad teeth...”
Why is it that poor whites are the only group of poor people who seem to have bad teeth. Don’t poor blacks and poor Hispanics suffer from bad teeth as well?
Most poor whites have at least a shred of dignity left.
Wasn’t this the subject of the book, What’s The Matter With Kansas, in which the writer of that book was shocked that so many people in Kansas vote Republican? Which he said was against their economic interests???
I think just in general, liberals are shocked that anyone would vote for a Republican candidate for any office. It’s beyond their frame of reference to think that voters are not just voting their economic interests, and/or vote for candidates who oppose abortion rights, homosexual marriage, Obamacare, global warming, on down the list of liberal causes.
Define poor.
The interesting thing is that the Dems used white supremacy and racism for a long time to try to keep part of the poor white vote. Then when that didn’t work any more, they switched to anti-white racism and race-based grievance mongering. The Dems have been a cancer on this country since they were formed.
I beg to differ. There aren't enough billionaire whites nor are there enough poor blacks and hispaniels to repreatedly carry 'RATS to victory. There HAS to be a sizeable number of poor whites who have subjugated themselves to the party of serfdom.
I’m not poor (yet) but I could be dirt poor and I still wouldn’t think it was OK to kill babies. That’s why I do, and would, vote for the Rs.
It might just be that some people have scruples and more pride in themselves than to vote for a Democrat of any shape or form.
A lot of these people are materially poor, but on their way up. They have learned values from their families. They will not remain poor.
Which is why the Democrats try to convince Republican consultants to throw the moral values voter overboard.

I can’t really answer that question, but it is certainly true that persons of Anglo descent have very poor teeth.
Myself included. And my dentist once told me that a very larger percentage of his patients were of Irish descent. I forget exactly what he said, but it the majority I believe.
In referencing Paula Jones, didn’t Carville mention something about dragging a $100 bill through a trailer park? Might we reason that Paula Jones was/is a Democrat?

First of all,the liberals DO NOT UNDERSTAND ‘ECONOMIC SELF-INTEREST’.
Poor whites are voting for their economic self interest by voting Republican.
They WANT to work.
They don’t not want virtual slavery to the government bureaucracy.
They know that voting Democrat will not get them ahead of where they are, only retrograde stagnation.....
No one told my ancestors about "streets paved with gold" they heard about freedom, and they came.
The mountain folks used to say, "I can make a living on a flat rock", and they could, until government got involved with everything.
