This will be good precedent for things to come.
The other pharmacists must have ringing in the ears though.

Did you ever hear how loud a gun shot is in an enclosed place like that? It very much hurts your ears.

So true. Folks spend hours at the ranges with hearing protection - a good thing of course. But ... I had my family each fire three rounds from the .45, 9mm and the .223 WITHOUT hearing protection so they would know, and so they would not be startled into incompetence if they were ever in a self-defense/ unexpected shoot.
I recommended the same thing to frinds of ours in the shooting community who had NEVER heard their firearms unmasked. They were astounded. Both agreed it would have spooked them.
Also it became painfully obvious all the Hollywood and tv shows with cops and bad guys firing weapons in their cars was commonplace and doable. You get the idea. ;-)

Taking another person life is not an easy thing to do nor ever get over, ask most vets who have been in that position.
While I can sympathize with the shooter, I cannot feel bad for the robber, he rolled the dice and lost. Definitely a bad decision on his part.

And if you really want a jolt, try that with a 357 or 44 mag.

When I got my S&W Model 19 .357 magnum in 1968 (that's right, 1968), I went out to an unsettled place nearly parents home where there were some sand hills to act as backstops and, without ear protection, fired two .357 rounds at about 4:00 p.m. My ears were still ringing by 10:00 p.m. Huge difference. It's a good ida for everybody to do the same thing once.
To: libstripper
Yes, the decibel level of magnums is very high.
