Never fails whenever I check a weather boast, that the boast is wrong.
Not necessarily so. Many local temperatures are taken at the local/regional airport. Even a distance of ten miles from that airport, one can discern varied temps, precipitation, snow, fog, ice, heat.
I have inside/outside temperature atomic clocks. Never fails when the airport temp is broadcast, I glace over to my local reading and the difference (higher/lower) is usually experienced.

I can hear it now:
Algore comes out and says, “The time is now to admit that global warming due to man-made climate change was wrong. I apologize for that. We must now admit that global cooling is the greatest disaster awaiting humanity! The pollution caused by humans is the reason the planet is cooling. We must end this global cooling now, before the oceans ice over!”
Lol. Yeah and they will ignore the bias and accuracy in the data collected when they announce it.
It’s the warming. Warming leads to cooling.
Good thing I didn’t drop out of college like that dummy Walker.

I had -22 on my front porch in my southern ohio creek valley home. Ohio gets this cold occasionally. It was colder longer in 77/78. The Ohio River froze so it could be walked on. The famous Ice Bowl between the Cincy Bengals and the SD Chargers was about -52 with wind chill, so you know the actual temperature was down there.
Since I was a child a long time ago, all the way up until now, we have had cold winters, warmer winters, and in between winters. We have had lots of snow fall, middle snow fall, and very low amounts of snow fall.
It’s almost as if the weather changes.
I have seen sixty-one winters. Only a handful were anything at all like any of the others.
(To the Sesame Street Jingle)
Which of these things is not like the others
Which of these things is not like the rest?
(All of them)
Our weatherperson said, that was coming tomorrow, of course, we are 5.5 inches short of the 6 inch that was due a few weeks ago.
You caught me being vague and obtuse!
This Feb 2015 has, so far, more snow on the ground at one time than I e’er did see. 2014 was the worst I e’er did see for sheer coldnicity. A couple of consecutive ones in the ‘90 were dead ringers for each other (both mild). ‘Course I gotta throw in the Blizzard of ‘78. Some winters in my youth I was able to pond skate daily. Others, I couldn’t get near the pond for the snow! Some of my winters are a blur.......
You don’t need a weatherperson to know which way the wind blows.
Craaaaaazy weather indeed !!
Zero predicted for us Tuesday morning with 45+mph winds sustained. Sod Poodles will not be sunning themselves so may just stay at home and tend the fire with some good buffalo trace bourbon......
Mind you, I was listening to this on a day that the drive to work in the morning was -28°F... and that is not "wind chill", that is ambient... and this isn't Minot, Montana or Williston, North Dakota, or Nome, Alaska... this is PENNSYLVANIA.
A few days earlier it was -33°... it was so cold the red colored alcohol in the thermometer outside my kitchen window was not visible in the glass.
I just got in a few minutes ago. My car’s dashboard said it was seven degrees. I’m going downstairs now to start the faucets trickling to prevent a freeze up tonight.
Man made climate change is mainly due to the development of modern thermometers.
Grubermometers.
We will always only be as good or bad as our instruments.
