One day for the defense? This guy is toast.
Hey Ted ... I think we found your Atty. General
that was quick
if only they had a rope , a horse , and an old oak tree at the ready
I mean , hello ? aren’t even our greatest of heroes worth anything ? Due process and pamper the murderous crazy assholes ? I’m sorry , if it was up to me I’d string this bastard up . I would be happy to switch the horse personally
heck... wire, pickup and a lamppost would do the trick
WOW, I gather there was not much to defend seeing as this was so quick in a murder case.
Well heck, the only question to be decided was how nuts the guy was when he pulled the trigger. I am not in the courtroom, so I don't know how well they did that, but I think we will see very shortly.
hang em
A Muslim convert.
Doin’ his own private Jihad.
(Check out his picture if you don’t agree!)
What defense was there? Other than a slim chance of finding the guy crazy he was already convicted from his own words.
I'm certain the jury will convict and give him the death penalty. The appeal will say that Routh is really crazy, and a death sentence is cruel and unusual punishment for him because he's incapable of understanding WHY he's been given the death sentence.
Horse feathers! It doesn't matter whether the man was sane or not; he did the deed, was convicted, was given the death sentence. Set up to the fast track, Mr. Routh, to be number 1 on Death Row. I'm certain other prisoner's would allow you to jump the line.
Stringing up has its advantages . . . if he goes on death row he will be pardoned by our Islam-lovin’ president.
The fastest jury deliberation I ever heard of was six minutes before returning a verdict in a rape trial.
The reason it took that long was they had to let the jury foreman go to the bathroom.
unfortunately ( from what I read) , the death penalty is not on the table . Life in prison
what should it matter if a person is incapable of understanding if what did in killing another is wrong ?
The one they killed doesn’t get the choice of understanding anything anymore . It should be up to the relatives of the victim to decide what his fate should be . If they choose mercy , then it’s mercy , if they choose hanging , then it’s hanging . Works for me
there is something to be said for the old traditional American methods
And they can choose mercy as long as they refund the state for the burden.
State putting on rebuttal. Don’t know how long they will take.
Could go to the jury later today I’d guess.
