Me either.

Some of the dress code laws, I look at and think, "Don't they have something better to do with their time?". But I suppose if they're worrying about a Legislative Dress Code, then they're not picking the voters' pockets.

Well now, who wants someone to do any critical thinking? We can’t have that! How messed up would people be if they thought for themselves?

Be a good little sheeple and listen what the “Brian Williams”, Obamas and the Dimocrats say and follow them down the cliff.

Not sure I see the correlation between you walking while someone is hunting with a suppressor. Hunters are trained to identify their target, before they shoot. How much noise the firearm makes doesn’t seem to have any bearing on how safe you are walking.

If you’re in the way of the shot it is still to late to dodge it by the time you hear the report.

Number five - “encourage critical thinking” - is interesting. Weren’t conservatives excoriated in some states a few years ago for OPPOSING such bills on the belief that they were intended to aggressively undermine parental religious beliefs?

Christianity advocates freedom and righteousness.

Islam advocates totalitarian tight fisted control and legislates immorality.

The liberal/progressives have final found a religion they like!

I don’t know if they are or not, but I absolutely will not hunt the same area where another hunter uses one. Since there is no public land-only private land-around here to hunt, it isn’t an issue. About 20 years ago, an inexperienced hunter wandered into the area I was hunting and took a shot at me-I heard the boom, hit the dirt, yelled profanity and rolled down into some trees instantly. If that idiot had been using a silencer, I would not be here talking about it...

" . . . today’s Democrats DO align closely with Republicans of about 30 years ago."

What drivel. Thirty years ago, Republicans were advocating gay marriage, open borders, carbon taxes, transgender restrooms, campus speech codes, 500 billion dollar deficits, nationalized health care, and fining businesses who opposed gay marriage?

Not always-I’ve done it once, and don’t want to repeat the experience-fortunately for me, the fool was shooting wildly and badly.

I think they are already legal for hunting in Texas.

Silencers are really suppressors (mufflers). If the cartridge used is supersonic, there's little one can do to suppress the sharp "sonic boom".

Something like #3 does not appear in a vacuum. There’s a REASON why somebody wants to pass legislation that specific. Somebody did something to provoke it ... and the hipster leftards at ‘salon’ are hiding that back story.

So is Salon located in Montana?

No?

Then they need to mind their own business.

That’s the beauty of a “republic”.

I was wondering if this would apply to the guys that hang simulated scrotums on the backs of their trucks....

Leftism is based in anti-Christianity,
so, yeah, it’s no wonder.

That quote from Salon is a textbook example of Liberal psychological projection. Over the last 30 years it is the LEFT that has become authoritarian. The Right, if anything, has become more Libertarian.

This sort of delusional twaddle is what passes for ‘intellect’ and ‘analysis’ on the Left.

Unfortunately, being able to identify a target as being a deer rather than a human is not a requirement for hunting here-and I’m once burned, twice shy.

But let’s go back-and not hijack-the subject of the thread-what on earth is bizarre about encouraging critical thinking in the classroom? I wasn’t aware it was not done any more...

Huh? The bullet will get there long before you hear the shot.

In fact you would have more warning if the hunter was using a suppressor (silencer), because the bullet is much slower.

Don’t believe the crap in movies, a silencer won’t make high powered rifles as quiet as a chipmunk fart.

"Hunting with silencers doesn’t sound like a good idea."

Do you want your huntin' dog to go deaf?

The bullet will get to you before the sound does, so a suppressor is not a safety issue. Plus, hunters fire one, maybe two, shots, then they are field dressing, so that location is probably safer.

I have been downrange of “suppressed” shots and believe me, the *crack* of a supersonic round eight feet away is as loud as a .22 up close, maybe louder, but the sound comes from the right angle of the bullet path, not from the rifle location.
